Got most of the units shields done now including some of my own creations which I am fairly pleased with. I have also revised all of the city flags to historically accurate symbols.
Quite a few new cities have been added by deleting some less relevant ones and the ownership of some cities has been swapped to make for more rivalry in the multiplayer version.
Could someone tell me where to find the text pop-up about the new paratrooper and engineer abilities. I have been searching the game file in vain!

You can speed up the barbarian movement . . . . if you cover the map. The barbarians that are moving--and not being seen--don't take much time.
Of course, this means more work for the designer, as you have to cover the map and then go back with a custom air-scout unit and reveal territory for EACH civ, (and barbarians). Still, the outcome is better for the player, AND has the advantage of injecting an element of exploration into the game.Lost in America.

@Exile
Thats what I did in the original version of Aeterna Civitas and I may well use it in the single player Roman version. I think it is unnecessary in the multiplayer game as you cannot see the barbarian moves anyway.
@Jerec
I took your advice and added another Celtic unit, the Galatian Warrior. This is a Blade unit like the Princepe. I have also given the city of Ancyra in Anatolia to the Celts and set up a barbarian creation unit nearby so the Celts can recruit more Galatians (or their enemies can recruit them!). I know the Galatians did not take Ancyra until 278BC but I don't think this minor historical inaccuracy is too big a sin!

Thanks, found it eventually!
I have already cut the Bruttian Warrior and replaced it with the Galatian. I am now considering cutting the Campanian Warrior too and just having one type of Latin infantry to represent Etruscans, Bruttians, Campanians, Apulians etc... I will keep the Samnites though as they were a very important rival/ally of the Romans/Greeks/Carthaginians.
This will free up another unit space. I am considering adding Latin Cavalry unless someone can suggest a more important unit to add. I am also considering cutting the two Parthian units that the Seleucids can build later in the game and adding Asian Elephants and some kind of cheap Persian Infantry unit. Suggestions are welcome!
I will post the current Units file and list for scrutiny as I would like to make the list final!

Cohort stats are very good...but why Cohort? That means half a legion or some such fraction...why not just name it Legion?
Whenever I think Persian I think chariots with scyths attached and those pikemen with the square shields.
*edit* Here's a pic. These are miniatures, I actually own this set. Note the pikemen with the shields.

I think you will have to make do with the Galatians
Re: Cohort
I guess I could call this unit Legion. Each unit would not represent an entire Legion (else the Romans would end up with hundreds of Legions!) but I can't see any harm in calling it that as whatever I call it will probably be slightly inaccurate. Added to the list!
Re: Legion Standard Bearer
If that is a more accurate name then I will add it to the list too. The only purpose of the Standard Bearer is admin and pride! I know I will use it but I guess more pragmatic players will ignore it. I could give it better stats but I don't want the player to build hundreds of them. I could also create an event that is triggered when the Standard Bearer is killed but then nobody would use them! Some more thought needs to go into making this unit worth building for all players.
