Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Well, it's official! I put my Landing Craft in slot #43 and tweaked the spawning location of the Guadalcanal invasion. Then I ran the scen. Only the Landing Craft and 2 TBM/TBF Avengers were spawned, not the 4 US Marines, the M3 Stuart, or the 105mm Howitzer. It doesn't work, just as AGRICOLA and I suspected.
KRIEGSMARINE REPORTS THAT ATLANTIS IS NO LEGEND !!
It's May '43. The awesome German invasion convoy has entered the Strait of Belle Isle, bound for Quebec City to re-enact Wolfe's exploits of 350 years ago.
As expected, the barren, rugged coast of Labrador can be seen to starboard, but, to port . . . . . . . . only the frigid North Atlantic.
The world has suffered an irreplaceable cultural loss . . . . . the source of a zillion Newfie jokes.
@curtsibling
1. Can you make the world a happy place again?
2. The following are my latest comments:
Field Guns should be able to ignore City Walls. Otherwise, it is pointless to send them against cities.
There is no ground or air unit that can, by itself, kill a Tiger I or II, behind City Walls in a city with or without Flak Defences. Similarly, no BB can by itself kill one behind a Coastal Fortress. Is this what you had in mind?
The Troopship icon is not very good. Nemo's Landing Craft looks much better.
I thought that Belfast had/has shipyards?
Troopships at 40 shields seem to be overpriced when, for 20 shields more, one can get Freighters with twice the carrying capacity. I can't see any reason for building Troopships. If the cost is cut to 20 shields, they become somewhat attractive to build. Or, make Freighters 70 shields and Troopships 30 if you don't want any 20 shield units in the game.
The shortage of Engineers really hampers operations, especially where the Russians are pillaging roads. Maybe they should be buildable but expensive, perhaps 160 or 200 shields each. At such prices, and with 20 rows in the food bin, I don't see how anyone could afford to build more than the minimum needed, except possibly late in the game.
Madison is misspelled as Maddison.
Torch is much too feeble because
1. The invasion forces have no units that can ignore city walls except for Inf. All Inf land much too far from Casablanca and Algiers and can't get to the cities in time to attack. The Allies did attack the cities immediately.
2. All units need GOTO's to Casablanca and Algiers.
3. The Allies need B-17's or B-24's to attack cities. These won't necessarily be suicide missions because there are reachable airbases in Spain and on islands in the Med. Also, Benghazi and Al Burayqua can be reached from the Algiers area.
4. As you said in your last e-mail, some P-51's wouldn't be amiss except that they would have no place to land.

1)
I will have a look at the costs of the troop ship and freighter.
2)
I will give the Field Gun Ingor city walls and tweak the landing grounds to be next to Casablanca and Algiers.
3)
I kind of like the Tiger's invincibility, but I agree, it might be too silly. I am open to suggestions on that one.
4)
I am thinking of replacing the troopship with a unit called the 'invasion fleet', basically a multi unit with troopships.
It will be able to carry 6 units, and have high defence and decent attack...This means it can bombard and then land
troops. I am sure the AI will use it if when the unit is given the 'attack' role...
5)
City name bloopers in Crete and USA are fixed now.
All these edits will be added to the new version I will release this week-end!
Give me the map squares where Newfoundland should be, and I will bring it back!
On the assumption that a picture is worth a thousand words, here is my version of Newfie. The air base in the center represents Gander, the departure point for innumerable trans-Atlantic ferry flights.

ok, where can i find the latest version of this one?
I am eager to playtest it if Curt agrees.
"Military training has three purposes: 1)To save ourselves from becoming subjects to others, 2)to win for our own city a possition of leadership, exercised for the benefit of others and 3)to exercise the rule of a master over those who deserve to be treated as slaves."-Aristotle, The Politics, Book VII

I know that you want to finish Dictator VI, so here are a few additional comments.
Engineers cannot build Air Bases. This makes it impossible to transfer Fighters from Europe to the Far East and difficult to transfer Bombers. One might consider giving all civs the Radio tech at the start of the scen.
In Sept '43, there are 45 US naval units in 2 stacks outside San Francisco and no additional U.S. naval forces between SF and Asia. IMHO, the West Coast U.S. units need some kind of GOTO to get them to move towards Japan.
I don't understand the cost and the buildability of the V-2. Starting July '43 (when the Germans got Rocketry), Events produce a V-2 every turn. However, the unit can never be built. In any case, its 880 shield cost means that, even if it were buildable, it would never be built and, if available, never be used. What player wouldn't disband a one-shot unit in exchange for a Super Battleship or some other expensive unit. I should add that the same argument applies to the SS Panzer Div, the SS Grenadiers and the A-bomb.
I see no reason why the cost of all unbuildable units could not be reduced to a point where it is better to use them than to disband them.
Without aircraft in the invasion stack, the invasion of Italy was a non-event. Rommel's innovative approach to anti-invasion defences resulted in the immediate destruction of Allied units.
Excepting Avalanche, you can check the validity of the other points in the last saves I sent you.

Since agricola took the krauts, i opted for the japs.
Have played about 8 turns.
1.There are no objectives near the japanese sphere of influence(apart from Hong Kong). That means no objectives in China, Australia, India or wherever. The nearest objective is Phoenix.
2.Agricola is right for that airbase suggestion, but in this scenario airbases have been replaced by "towns". On the other hand you could replace the town-airbase tiles, in all those neutral countries, with the "urban" terrain
and have a seperate airbase.
3.My strategy thus far: I attacked the Yanks and Brits the very first turn. The ausies on turn 3. The australian fleet is giving me a headache, but the British one has yet to make an appearance. The Imperial Navy is still searching for the U.S fleet to bring it to battle, after capturing Honolulu. I think i will tottaly ignore the Chinese(no objectives) and concetrate on the allied possesions, just to help my German allies. Will definetely avoid a confrontation with the Russians.

BTw i captured Midway atol and Honolulu before researching the "Pacific campaign" tech. I think i nullified some American event-created units by doing that-no Pearl Harbor.
