      This looks amazing!

I would be very interested in playtesting, if you want help

      Also, what about wonders?

Some heavy industry (the Allatini mills perhaps would be a good landmark) in Thessalonike?

I would really appreciate some help playtesting!

These are the wonders as they are. May re-jig them. Some are obsolete and only count itowards objectives. In rush now as I have to go to work

PS. I know League of Nations was post WWI! That will change to Great Powers or something similar. Please point out any other errors though

          The wonders look ok

Their gfx are not always linked to the actual buildings, although this does not irc me. The white tower atm uses the graphic of the heptapyrgion?
And 'control for Thrace' has the ali mosque, in Egypt

I used a few that were just a bit hazy. Guess the name says it all.
Most of the improvement icons have been pinched from Techumseh's FTG scenario. I know they are from a different era but I think they look good!

To be honest I have never been too fussed about the appearence of the icons. As long as they match and are not ugly I am happy. It does add an extra dimention to a scenario when there are good icons though, so if anyone fancies having a go at some then feel free. I would like to keep the style of the 'Control of...' icons.
If no-one has time then thats cool as I am satisfied with the ones I have!

Also the town 'dimotika' could be renamed to Didymoteichon. Dimotika, as i wiki-checked, is the bulgarian name, but probably is more obscure than the greek one (?).
                The turkish name is Dimetoka.
Didymoteichon became part of Greece in the aftermath of ww1.

Didymoteichon means 'twin walls', or having such a wall.

Most of my maps show the city as Dimotika so for some reason this seems to be the preferred Anglicized version. Strange as for the majority of the 20th century it was either in Turkish or Greek possession!

I will try and post a list of all the names and variations later and we can try and make some sense of the situation

                    CITY NAMES

And here begins said city name list. I will go through nation by nation. This is where my ignorance of languages comes out! This may take a bit of compromise to get right

Where possible I will be using the most common Anglacized version! Please point out any errors. I want to get this right but I am not going to get bogged down trying to get it 100% accurate. As long as most people recognize the name then I will be happy!

Would somebody like to hex-edit some diplomatic settings?

If you hex edit during the creation of a game is it permanent?

                      What I need is:
Entente neutral / at peace with all sides
Austria neutral / at peace with all sides
Rumania neutral / at peace with Entente and Austria

                          Monastir

This is what wikipedia says about the name:
"Bitola has had various names during its long history. The present Macedonian name Bitola (Битола) is taken from the old Slavic Obitel "monastery", as known when used under the former official name Manastır (from the Ottoman period). The name of the city in other languages is: Aromanian, Bituli; Greek, Μοναστήρι, Monastíri; Albanian, Manastiri; Turkish, Manastır; Bulgarian: Битоля, Bitolya; and Serbian, Битољ, Bitolj. During Ottoman rule the city was called Monastir and when Serbia gained the city after the First Balkan War (1913), it was renamed to Bitolj (Битољ)."

As the city was under Ottoman control at the beginning of the First War I will use the name Monastir. I think to save my sanity I will just run all the city names through Wikipedia and then copy/paste this sort of info into an attached notepad document for those who are interested in changing names or learning more about the history of the places in the game

I would like to build a web page for this kind of information but I don't really know where to begin. Another new challenge!

Rumania neutral / at peace with Entente and Austria
'Neutral' has no significance in this context. There are only 4 possible diplomatic states that one civ can have with another:
                            Allied
                            Peace
                            Cease Fire
War (actually, the absence of any of the first three)

In a normal game, 2 civs have identical diplomatic states with each other. By hexediting, it is possible to create an asymmetric situation, where civ A can have any of the 4 states with civ B [e.g. peace] and civ B can have any of the remaining 3 states [allied, cease fire, war] with civ A.

For every civ, its diplomatic status is set individually with each of the other 7 civs (including barbs).

It all boils down to whether or not you want 2 civs to be able to attack each other.
Making them allied makes attacks impossible unless events change the situation or one of them is the human civ.

Making them at peace with each other allows sneak attacks.

So, using the above terms, what do you actually want to happen in
'Entente neutral / at peace with all sides
Austria neutral / at peace with all sides
Rumania neutral / at peace with Entente and Austria'?

                              What I want is:
Entente - Permanent peace with all nations
Austria - Permanent peace with all nations
Romania - Permanent peace with Entente and Austria
Ottomans - Permanent peace with Entente and Austria

This will leave the rest to make and break alliances at will!

I suppose I could set the treaties and forbid diplomacy but that would make the game a bit predictable.

                                Alliance = Permanent peace
                                Peace = Can attack

If all you want is 2-way alliances or peace between civs, you don't need to hexedit.

                                Just use
                                CHEAT/EDIT KING/ choose a civ [A] /EDIT TREATIES/ choose a civ [B]/ choose Alliance, Peace, Cease Fire or War

This will generate reciprocal Alliances, Peace etc. between civ A and civ B.

P.S. You should have my e-mail address. I've got yours.
