This is the Papal coat of arms. Couldn't locate a papal flag. I'm sure there was one for the period, just can't seem to find an image.

That's actually the coat of arms of pope John Paul II. Each pope had a different one... (*cough* I didn't actually know anything about this, but I just scrolled through this page).

I assume you're not actually making a late 20th century scenario, so that papal flag might need a change.

Here's a papal flag. Went to a site where there were lots of Papal flags. Some were silly. Some were very silly. This was one of the least silly.

That one is from 1929. I think it might be a good idea to just make up one, maybe with the "PX".
