  • Our troops in South Africa are preparing for the incoming rebel onslaught.

Also, a few words on the rules:

Is stealing techs allowed? If so, the nation stealing them should announce that it has done so.

Limited wars should be announced before they are started. That way accidents can be avoided. Had I been the US, Pyongyang would be a big crater by now.

mmm... to be honest, i dont remember the original pbem rules of this scenario. i´m willing to hear your opinions about the issue of stealing techs.

regarding limited wars, i think that you have a point there.
on the one hand, sneak attacks tend to be extremely successful... and taking into account that these conflicts will take place in third world countries, the big powers need time to movilize their troops to the war zones. so... yea... maybe announce it one turn before the war starts could be a way to give the defender at least one turn to movilize its troops.

but again, i´m not sure. give me your opinions and arguments in favour / against it.

      • Why should stealing tech's be announced? Are there any historical expamples of that?

        • Well, it is possible to check if something has been stolen, but it is tedious as hell to do so.

And normally the game would notify one of tech theft anyway, to make up for the fact that this does not work in a PBEM it would only be logical that people should announce it when they have stolen a tech so that the victim can react.

I would generally be against tech stealing anyway.

          • Banning sneak attacks is unfair. Honor and such should be maintained but flat out banning it is wrong.

yep, to be honest i didnt feel angry because patine attacked in south korea.
mmm... sneak attack is a good option for smaller countries, where your enemy is a big guy, and you have to take advantage of your first strike.

              • I didn't say sneak attacks should be banned, I just said that people should probably announce a limited war beforehand to make sure it will stay limited, else it could escalate into a world war.

As for the NATO (except for the US): Except for our south African cities we will tolerate no attacks.

                • I have a idea for this local war / sneak atack problem. When a local war starts by sneak atack, it would be limited to two squares away from the atacked city, while we discuss in the forum the limits and wining conditions of the war. What about this?

Academia, can you please keep the roads leading northward from New York to Ontario unblocked?

It will become a major trade route very soon.

Also, spotted Soviet reinforcements on 153, 83, presumably being relocated to the Congo.
