  • Sage points from Catfish!

I wish the ToT chaps had flung open the door and allowed for massive events...

Although back in 2000, 100kb did seem like tons compared to MGE!

    • I've got rid of the heap error by pruning the file. I'm currently playtesting it to see if all the events work as intended, and if it's challenging enough (currently I'm getting my butt paddled, but I may be able to turn the tide...then there's the Chinese).

        • VERSION 1.2 READY FOR PLAYTEST!
The next version of the Korean War scenario is ready for playtest! The Commie AI is much harder, all naval units other than carriers and transports have been gotten rid of, many graphics have been updated, artillery has been more specified (I still need good graphics to replace the 76mm and 122mm Soviet-made arty; currently I'm using Nemo placeholders from RF), the number of UN land units in play has been cut down on, there are now no UN units starting in Japan other than immobile garrisons, and China now has MiG-15's (and there aren't any on NK airfields at start). I'm sorry Curt I didn't end up using your icon (it was great, mind), but the event that used that Wonder didn't work in any way I wanted. My apologies. Here's the scen.

                    • Downloading now, from what I've heard this should be a very fun beta to play.

                      • I think your icon file is off a pixel. My improvements have few pink lines at the top.

As for the difficulty, well, I'm just going to have to try harder.

                        • I meant to fix that pixel thing before release. Sorry about that. I'll get to it for the final release at the latest.

                          • So...uh...other than pixels being off, any comments on this one? Anybody?

                            • The North Korea civ is in quite a rampage at the start. They sweep across the South like angry wasps...!
The UN player is left in an almost unwinnable situation at the start. Is this what was intended for challenge?

Also the 1st turn money wipe was in effect when I played. Leading to improvements being auctioned on turn one.
I was not too fond of some of the terrain mixes in thescen, but that is a matter of visual opinion.

All in all, it is a cool scenario, but I think it still needs a bit of polish...

                              • Yes, Curt, I may have overdone the 'challenge' factor of the scen at the start a bit. I find, though, that retreating surviving SK units to hole up in Pusan can usually allow you to hold onto the city till the first wave of UN reinforcements arrive. Also, even I find the terrain graphics a bit patchy...I may have to dig around for ones that gel better together. You are right, it does still need polish. Keep the comments and criticisms coming in please, as I'd like to make the next version even better.
