Well, personally I'm not really looking forward to Civilization IV. Now I haven't played the beta yet, I don't know even if the beta is available, but based on what I've seen it just doesn't have the same virtues that I find appealing in Civ II both MGE and ToT.

I could be wrong however..... only time will tell for sure.

      UPDATE:

Well, the work on the Earth city map is going nicely, and I am
quite happy with the terrain also. Things bode well for some
      colourful TARDIS/Davros Saucer/Skaro City maps...

Below is a sneak peek at the embattled Earth city area...
Some Human freedom fighters challenge the Skaro Daleks!

      More madness to come!

Wow, that city terrain looks pretty gosh diddly'arn impressive. I also like the miss matched look of the human defenders, quite rugged and appropriate for this project.

          Cheers, Sarsstock!

Yep, the Humans are a scruffy, disorganised lot...
But a certain Time Lord might be able to offer them some help!

            That sounds unbelievably cool. :gobsmacked:

You can prevent the big mechanized-type units/formations from entering the tardis/saucer maps ...

Much as I'd like to see the Cybermen and the Sontarans putting in an appearance though, they aren't exactly the sort of types who might be inclined to take orders - even from the daleks.

As well as the Sea Devil/Silurian types mentioned earlier you could also throw in the Ice Warriors or possibly the Ogrons as Dalek minion/client types?

              Thanks!
The different maps have me working away with enthusiasm.
I am looking forward to creating Skaro's Dalek city especially.

Well, the Cybermen will be in their own faction, and have a taken over a
farm on the Earth map. What their mysterious plan could be is anyone's guess!

The Sontarans will be siding with the Master's faction and acting as his heavies.
They might be joined with other monsters too...If the Master can convince them.

The Sea Devil and Silurians are a great idea! I think it
would be proper to have them appear. Also, the Ogrons
will definitely be showing up to help the Skaro Daleks...!

              Nice one, ravagon!

Been working on the humanoid units today, and have completed the Cybermen and the Master.

Also, I done an upgrade of the Doctor units, including the 4th Doctor, Tom Baker!

Here is my humble pixel tribute to the most eccentric of the Time Lords!

And if you zoom in, you can see a tiny pixel jellybaby in his left hand!

I'm just glad you got Baker's scarf down right Curt . I'm a little curious though, I was under the impression early on that the Dalek's would be the only playable civ, but more and more its sounding like more and more civ's will be playable.

Which civ or civ's will be playable by the human player exactly?

I decided (after some advice) to expand the scope of the scenario a bit.

Now there are five playable factions, or six if the
player feels like playing the underdog Humans.

The civs available in this one will be:

                    *The Imperial Dalek faction.
                    *The Skaro Dalek faction.
                    *The Doctor and his allies.
                    *The Master and his allies.
                    *The Cybermen task force.
                    *The Humans...For a challenge.

More info on these factions will be posted soon.

The two Dalek sides will begin at war with each other.
The Doctor has the support of UNIT and the Earth freedom fighters.
The Master will have Sontarans and will try to beguile any Humans.

The Cybermen...Well, they are up to something!

It's been a pretty productive day for 'Dalek Tyranny'.
I am about to visit some mates, so here is a new
progress screenie before I vanish for the night!

These Cybermen are hanging around on the farm...But for what?

                      See you all soon!

Well Curt I'm glad you decided to open the game up to be playable by multiple sides. It sounds like this is going to be one big battle royale with the third rock from the sun as the grand prize for the last man standing .

Also, those Cybermen look amazing my friend.

And that offer of doing a title screen is there if you get the time...!
I would be chuffed to use you work on this one!

Well the sad fact is that Curt I'm not the artist you are. Still, I'd be glad to take a shot with my favorite friend Mr. Photoshop and we'll see if I can come up with something to your liking. Maybe I can use some of the Dalek artwork thats been done over the years as a reference for this title.
