  • SL meet?

Does anyone think an international get-together would be worth attempting sometime in the future? I can't think of a better bunch to hoist a few pints with.

      Civ4??

It would be great, but I just can't see how I could take part in it... But if something is organized, I might try to come (but I wouldn't cross the pond for that, though: twice 8 hours plane might be too much for just a week-end...). Europe might be doable!

Europe would sound fine with me ... sitting in Vienna at the centre of it makes is even easier. I like that idea, Brian

          Great idea

Bit tricky with the pond dividing us though. I could probably make it to the US or Canada if it were timed to coincide with a business trip.

How about Europe, next summer? Optional charter tour of selected pubs, er, battlefields?

            Alternatively, someplace hot, this winter.

Assuming that you're talking about the northern winter, then Canberra seems to fit the bill. It will be excellent - I'll show you guys the National Library and, um, the front of my office building and, er, the lake! One lucky SLer can even sleep on my sofa!

I'm a poor student without (much of) a job, so I can't go any significant distance before next spring at least. After that though, I might go travelling a bit... At the moment it seems very likely I'll at least be heading for the UK.

I think this is the most up-to-date locations list thread.

feel free to post in it and I'll add you in

*Edit: The thread is archived In a week I'll try to post an update.

We could always have low-level "SL Hostelry" whereby SLeaguers who are travelling arrange to meet up with others from that country with possibility of free short-stay accommodation

I rather selfishly thought of this after seeing Case's post. I'm seriously thinking of travelling to Australia. How 'bout it, mate?

I can of course offer a free bed in my London flat; and I mean the sofa-bed in my front room. Sheesh . Jorrit, you'd be very welcome.

That's a nice idea... (Maybe not even just the SLeague, but all of Apolyton)

Bah! Not even your own bed? Thanks for nothing, Andrew.

                        But I'll remember that.

I won't be able to return the favour yet... I live with my mom.

Great idea! An attempt was made at CDG a year ago or so. It didn't go too well. It's almost an impossible project to plan. Firstly there's the distances and secondly all the various circumstances. I myself am currently a poor student and can't just take off in the middle of the semester, not can I afford it, as all my spare money go into the sweet weekend life

If anyone's coming to Norway (Bergen) though, I'll be ready with a cold pint in my hand
