  • How goes this epic work, Boco?

Can we expect El Aurens II in early 2007...?

    • Truly epic levels of procrastination!

I'm aiming for the 100th anniversary release. Yes, I'm advancing slower than a Great War general.

Working on Describe.Txt at the moment...

        • Describe.Txt question

That must be British for slow and sporadic progress.

Readme and unit descriptions are done. Still need to revise WoW, Improvement, Advance, Terrain, Scenario Concepts descriptions.

Has anyone (cold Tooheys quaffer or other) edited Describe.Txt's @TERRAIN_AND_RESOURCE_DESCRIPTIONS to cover all four maps?

          • This is shaping up as an exquisitely designed scenario, which I expect will be well worth the wait.

            • Boco is the master of making the civ-text files look awesome!

              Great work!

                Thanks, Curt.

Still puttering away at Describe.txt for improvements. Advances are complete, and improvements are half way. Since I can't possibly be at fault for following historical tangents all over the 'net, I think we have to blame Our_Man, who mentioned he liked reading the Civilopedia.

                • That is an excellent little footnote in history of a remarkable man!

Details like this really conjure up the atmosphere!

It's not my fault you made El Aurens a fun, informative scenario that made me want to read everything in the describe.txt.. and then some.

                    • O_M's right - the text in version 1 was excellent and we're all waiting with baited breath for the new version. EA1 was a classic example of one of the best features of civ scenarios; it captured the essence of a historical period and was hugely informative. I love scenarios that get me interested in a period or campaign which I knew bugger-all about beforehand

                      • Indeed - !
The level of research is a sign of Boco's true scholarship in the WW1 period.

I am actually reading the EA1 events right now for inspiration!

                        • You are all lousy at reining in my tendency to surf at the expense of making progress, but thanks for the kind words.

After hearing all these words lauding atmosphere, I suppose I should shift from correct spelling to British.

I believe they are the same. If you wish to add some colour to your armour, then you should continue your labours. Good day, sir.
