What!? Focus on content before appearance?

I like the idea of having links to both scens and their respective reviews on the same page.

If we go wiki, who would get it rolling? Leo? The master of ignorant laymen? In a wiki format, can we address Fairline's concern about gfx and scen buggering? Is there such a beast as a site containing a conventional files section and wiki reviews and guides? If no one with the necessary skills is available to set this wiki-style up with low maintenance, then we'll need to start rolling with a conventional format such as Tech's excellent start here.

You could do that, making an intro movie after which you can jump to the main page, or could simply use it for an animated banner or navigation bar.

Then again, you can make the entire site with Flash, which requires more experience than I can ever accumulate.

EIther way, I really suck at Flash, so I'm afraid that I wouldn't be of much help.

Nope. He made an error in the HTML. The image links are pointing to the folder on his computer rather than to the location on the website.

Sorry, I tried using Frontpage for the first time. It's obviously a bit trickier. I'll try to fix it tonight.

Try doing it in Notepad. That's what I do... Well, not quite notepad, I use a text editor with a bit more functionality. It's the best way to learn it.

Frontpage has an annoying trick of changing your references. It thinks it knows better than you what you meant. I can't imagine where it got that idea from.

I think a Wiki is more appropriate than WordPress or -- Athena forbid -- a Slash-clone like PHPNuke or PostNuke. I'll get one up and running this weekend.

OK, it should be working now. I simplified the design and added navigation links to (currently blank) pages where the various content can be uploaded. Further suggestions are welcome.

Please indicate if you think we should adopt this as the new look and general design of the SL site. Thanks.

Where are those links going to lead, and will they connect to this forum?

We'll adopt the side border, the images, and the colours.

Do you still have the first prototype around? A tileable border/background would be useful.
