    may solve restart problem by setting game to not restart eliminated players, although its a tough game and civs face the possibility of extinction early. is there a way to set the 'don't restart eliminated players' after scenario construction is started? *i already customized the first time i loaded the map.

      Two graphics ?'s; hope someone can help:

      1) Grey triangles around forts and fortified units. possibly related to the background color used in the units editor, but not sure. Does this problem sound familiar, and how do I get rid of them?

      2) Can I make shields invisible? This would allow me to make an invisible, move 0, unit that will be a sort of land mine in the game.

        sounds like the fortress graphics in cities.gif are using grey instead of purple(i have no idea what the exact colours are called), here is an example, the top 2 fortress graphics show grey triangles around them, the bottom 2 don't, the difference is obvious(unless you are blind in which case you wouldn't be reading this so there is no point for me to make these comments,) just fill in all the grey area's around the forts the pink colour that is under the fort and you should't have a problem

          Yes, you can, I did it for exactly the same purpose: making an unit invisible!

          Here is how to do it: if you take a close look at the units graphic file, you'll notice the various units are separated by green lines; on the line on the left and on the top of each unit, you'll notice a blue point; those 2 points serve to position the shield on the unit horizontally and vertically.

          So, all you need to do is move the point on the top line fully to the right of the invisible unit, and the one on the left to its bottom, and then the shield won't appear, as it would be outside the unit!

          Pay attention: the 2 points are the ones on the TOP and on the LEFT of the desired unit, the ones on the right and on the bottom apply to other units

          And if my explanation wasn't good enough, just ask, I'll try to rephrase it!

            Thanks BE, Cyrion. The units editor automatically resets the triangles, and the blue dots, when I load the newly modified unit. It saves the unit to the UNITS.bmp with the default triangles and dots, even though the imported image was modified to all pink, and top-right/bottom-left dots template. I am missing something.

            PS, hope to have some units to post tonight.

              Don't modify units with the units editor!

              Or wait until you have finished modifying your units with the unit editor, and modify the dots with another tool (even MS-paint would do!)

              Or if you want you can just post your unit file and explain me which one you want to modify, and I'll do it for you (this is about all I am able to do graphically)

                should be an openable view of finished units so far. They all have the grey triangle problem when fortified at the moment. The one toward the bottom that you can't see, of course, is the ant lion; needs it's shield hidden. all need to have backgrounds changed, but so far saving the units file with altered backgrounds doesn&t solve the problem in the game. nonetheless, the ants will prevail. Cyrion, looking forward to your help with the 'invisible' ant-lion with greati ANTicipation.

                ps. at least 6 units still missing; jack-jumper, raider, harvester/frieghter, and 3 warior level ants specific to different tribes.

                Also, ant forts aren't that cool yet BE, but they could be. Little duct tape and luck. Default at the moment. Sufficiently default.

                    Notice that the signatures don't make it on the filtered-through-units editor version of units that you see. That's 'Fau' on spiders from the fantasy pack, and valmont on the grasshopper.

                      Here you are, Biru Biru: it took me 5 minutes (4 of them to open the Photoshop!).

                      I supposed it was the 3rd from the end??

                      BTW: your units look really nice!

                      And if you want me to correct the fortify problem, post your "cities" file!

                              Guys and gals, version #1 is looking good, already looking fwd to version #2.

                              Couple of these things are beyond my best efforts though;
                              thinking about scrapping the cities i did and replacing them with the cities from the original dinosaurs scenario in the fw game. to do this, i need industrial and modern cities though.

                              Similarly, Kashanka's terrain picks are excellent, especially that crack in the ground, but the map hasn't been updated. Krashka, are you willing to work on map graphics if i upload the map? current map is good enough, but better is best. Also, K, the ant-lion is cool, but needs to be modified for land. If the graphic is right, I'd like to write an event where the death of a completely invisible unit generates a cool looking 'uncovered' ant lion.

                              ps, events are working much better, thanks guys, V, for the previous help.

                                research icons need to be done. low priority, and i'm willing to run the scenario without them, but lots of potential to add to the scenario. only idea i have is a darwin fish for the academic, and am totally stuck past that.
