  • I'm starting to think that may be my problem. I've had an examination of the rules.txt, but can't yet find a looped tech requirement. Could someone please have a look at this (taken from my rules.txt) and tell me if they can see one?

    • Can you post the entire rules.txt? It's easier to dissect.

      • Actually, I caught the offender late last night. It was Banking, then its prequisite Republic, which here had Corporation as a prequisite, which itself had Economics and Industrialization, and they both went back to Banking. I've thus fixed that problem and loading the .scn file works, but there's still a problem. None of the techs are unique as numbered, even after that. As I recall, there's an event in ToT that will trigger that, but I can't remember what it is. Does anyone know or remember?

        • OK, I'm not sure if you need this, but here is some of my stuff I originally made for the 2194 Pacific scenario:
Here is the best armored unit I probably ever made, the 94 type tankette:

Here are my 2 Japanese battleships, the Yamato and Nagato class:

          Hope it helps.

          • Thanks a lot, KASHANKA! The 'Type' 94 may actually, by the looks of it, be the 'Model' 94 I was looking for (Erika may have mislabelled it, I'm not sure). Does anyone know the Type 94's name (as in, the Type 97 is the Chi-Ha)?

            • Toyota ^^

                • Actually, I've examined all of the Japanese armor options, and I think what I want to use is the Type 97, Type 1, Type 3 (all of which I already have), and, should the Japanese hold out long enough (or really pump up research) the Type 4, which could have affected at least the mainland war (and, after all, I'm also including the J2M and the Nikojima Kikka as later aircraft, even though they never saw action, just as a hypothetical option). Problem is, I don't currently have a graphic for the Type 4. Is there anybody who can please supply me with one? Thanks!

                  • The "type 94" and "model 94" are both the same thing. In Japanese there is one word which can be translated both as "model" or "type".

And the TK can be translated to a "Tankette" rather than tractor. The 94 was the most common Japanese armored vechicle in China, and the 3rd most common in the Japanese army at the end of the war. (With the type 97 Chi-Ha and type 95 Ha-Go as the most common).

Its just my advice, but I'd use those 3 tanks and maybe a late war heavy tank like the Chi-Nu or Chi-Ri.

                    • Sorry about the delay. Actually, those three might be alright, but I'd still also like to have a Type 4 to go along with my aircraft models that also didn't historically make it to see action (in case the Japanese last longer or pump research, or both). In other words, I'm still looking for a Type 4. Thanks KASHANKA for your help on earlier armor models, though.

                      • No probs, its your scenario. A heavy tank like the type 4 would be cool.

                        • Say, on another note, does anyone off-hand know where the following carriers were in December of '41?
                          IJN Taiho
                          IJN Soryu
                          IJN Kaga
                          IJN Akagi
                          IJN Hosho
                          USS Essex
                          USS Hornet
                          USS Saratoga
I already know that the Enterprise was about 500 km south of Hawaii with a task force at the time of Pearl Harbor. I plan for each of these carriers to be a unique unit, given the importance of carrier warfare (each might even have a trigger attached to its destruction).

Won't that tie down an awful lot of unit slots? It would be better to only have a few carrier classes (after all, both the USN's and IJN's carriers were pretty similar - the only significant difference was that the US ships tended to have a somewhat better ability to take damage as a result of superior design and vastly superior damage control).

IJN Taiho - wasn't build yet.

                                IJN Soryu
                                IJN Kaga
IJN Akagi - All 3 were with Hiryu, Shokaku and Zuikaku launching an attack on Pearl Harbor.

IJN Hosho - In Japan, Hashirajima anchorage if I'm not mistaken (not 100% sure if it was Hashirajima).

USS Essex - wasn't build yet.
USS Hornet - in the Atlantic with the rest of the Atlantic fleet.
USS Saratoga - In San Diego

Man... I thought you at least knew what Jap Carriers struck Pearl. Anyways, if you need any more naval info just ask and will do my best to help.

Oh, and just a suggestion: do NOT waste a slot for Hosho! Hosho was a useless old crate with 15 planes max and the Japanese never even tried to use it in any serious combat. My advice is that if you want to use slots for Jap carriers, use them for the big modern ones like Shokaku and Zuikaku
