    • Well Harry your the biggest reason we've all been debating idea's and aspect's of this game. The great stories are the ones you can just loose yourself in. Like this one here...

I also love description of the American psyche in this timeline, you make it highly plausible that America could indeed have stayed out of the war. I can almost see the mass confusion now.... soliders overflowing at every train and bus station from Charleston to Portland. State police closing every highway and major road along the east coast ahead of a possible invasion. Civilian riots at grocery and hardware stores from Albany to Santa Fe as a fear of shortages looks real. Nationwide blackouts only add to the tention as the greatest war of their generation, a second war of American independance is ready to begin.

      • what will canada be doing in this scenario?
hiding in the corner and hoping ontario and quebec don't
        get invaded?
I am not delusional! Now if you'll excuse me, i'm gonna go dance with the purple wombat who's playing show-tunes in my coffee cup!
Rules are like Egg's. They're fun when thrown out the window!
Difference is irrelevant when dosage is higher than recommended!

        • Thank you, thank you. Every scenario needs a good story. I think it really helps the imagination.

@Sarsstock: Sorry I didn't respond earlier about the police unit. I really like the Mexican cop with the high motorcycle pants. It reminds me of the New Jersey state troopers. Do you think you could do one with grey pants and a navy blue top? Also, could you give him a nice trooper hat? The state police in Ohio wear the traditonal "mountie" hat.

@Jim & Curt: Oh sweet, I get to use Lee Armey's voice in this one! Lot's of material.

@Erika: The Canadians will be represented with units that are controlled by the American player and Canadia cities will be under the Canadian Civ's control, but will not be able to produce anything but cash. I was debating making them a fully functional civ, but the allied AI units might get in the way of the playable American units. So I compromised.

Actually make that dark grey pants and a light grey top. With some nice buckles.

            • Well this is a graphic based on some old reference photo's of Ohio State Troopers in action in the early half of the century. Grey pants and grey shirt with tie and nice buckle as requested.

I also threw in a generic American State Trooper along with an RCMP officer. Though I doubt you would have little use for a Mountie in a game that takes place on American soil, I just thought I'd give you the option of having one.

Yeah, let us do that, funny as hell

Btw #1: His name is R. Lee Ermey - we both made mistakes spelling his name right

Btw #2: Check this link to IMDb.com to get your hands on some stuff for the events

                • @Sarsstock: I like how the Troopers seemingly have a beer gut

@Jim: Ah yes, it is spelled oddly. No matter, I'm sure I could type in drill sergeant and he'd come up

                  • I gave the grey trooper a shotgun and a new shield.

                    • A damn good shield, Mr Tuttle!

I can't wait to see those state troopers pull over a Panther II for speeding!

We should get (ex-)Sheriff John Brunell in there too!

                        • Well Harry, I was just working under the assumption that though there are a great many physical fit and athletic troopers out there, typically they would not be in the shape of front line troops and I thought that should be represented.

                          Glad you liked them!!

There is a funny US-imported program over here
in the UK, called 'America's Wildest Police Chases'.

Stars this totally white-haired/fake white toothed ex-cop guy
in a black leather jacket, who makes hilariously cheesey narration!

He cameo-appeared as a police lieutenant. in the recent movie, 'Bad Santa!'

Sorry for the thread-jack, but this guy is priceless!

                              • Does anyone have any problems with making Louis St. Laurent the Canadian Prime Minister? I would make William Lyon Mackenzie King the PM, but he was in bad health in 1948.
