I actually found a flag the presenter says is a flag of the British Empire, but also disclaims as merely a patriotic decoration. It's not a Union Jack with a crown in the middle, however, and the image they had was too big to post, but here's the link:

Flags Needed...Again

That's in Flags of the World as well; it's described as a table or wall decoration that was probably made to commemorate a sovereign's jubilee IIRC. It certainly wasn't an official flag that was hung on a flagpole. The Union Flag was the official flag of the British, and each colony and Dominion had their own flag as well.

Oh well, I guess I'll stick with the Union Jack for the British Empire players in several of my scenarios. Though Sarsstock, if you could make me a good one of those, I'd be most grateful (the one I'm using turns the player color to black due to its shadowing, making city pop numbers unreadable).

@Sarsstock:
The flags I need are as follows:
OAU
AU
ANC
South Africa (apartheid-era and modern)
Zaire
DR Congo
Ethiopia
Nigeria
Arab League
France
Belgium
Portugal
Liberia
Henry the Navigator's standard
Mohammed's palm green war banner
Could you also please throw in a mixed Portuguese/Belgian and a Ethiopian/Liberian shield (neither needed in city flag form). Thanks a lot!

As I recall, the Ethiopian flag you posted (at my request, actually) was Haille Selassie's; I'm looking for a more modern one. However, you're probably right in terms of the mixed shields; please feel free to scrap the idea (I'll make separate units, I guess). I'll take a look for the French flag, as well. I offer my appreciation on your work on any of the others however. Thanks!

Its just that mixed flags look so unatural and often make it hard to reconize the flags of the nations they represent. My advice is to come up with a design for a flag to represent both nations, like Curt has in the past in scenario's like Kaiser and Soviet Steel.
Trust me, it will look a great deal better in the end if you use a single flag to represent an alliance. Either that or use only one of the nations flags to represent both.

Okay, here is the little flagset I cooked up for ya. I have afew notes however:
First, the OAU and AU are both abreviations for the Afrian Union from what I've found. Second, Henry the Navigator sailed under what is today the modern flag of Portugal. Third, I couldn't find a reference for Mohammed's palm green war banner. If you know of such a reference please post it on the thread and I would be glad to take a crack at it.
Also, I threw in the first version of an Allied WW2 flag which we discussed earlier.Last edited by Sarsstock; December 2, 2004, 15:03.
