Pacifism is not a challenge
=>
Civ2 is made for fighting and conquering and should only played like that
"An archaeologist is the best husband a women can have; the older she gets, the more interested he is in her." - Agatha Christie
"Non mortem timemus, sed cogitationem mortis." - Seneca
Beg to differ - I found playing Civ2 without war greatly deepened knowledge and skills in research and diplomacy. Sort of like playing No Wonders Challenge.

Try breaking 1000ad in an Early Landing Game and tell us how that is not a challenge. It may not interest you but that says more about you than anything else. The game is not called "Blood and Guts" or "Merciless Tyrant." It's called Civilazation; and, if you must limit your game to "fighting and conquering", then you have to toggle a subset of the game, Bloodlust.
I find it fun to launch the spaceship, then conquer everyone before it lands.
Best of both worlds. (when not playing other humans, of course )
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple
