Tech had a couple of really nice scenario's under development as well, but I haven't heard from him in some time. Anyone know where he is? Boco?
RL kicked in with a vengeance for Techumseh — free time went to zip. He's the ToT grand wizard and is greatly missed. Play his scenarios to see what I mean.

Then tell me why on earth TOT never became the big 'hit'?
IMHO, too much hype and $ for an evolutionary design, and an awful first visual impression.

There is an Amazon across the North Sea from you (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...262444-3437464). Is that any easier with Euros now, or are the shipping and duties still exorbitant?

The China warlords scenario is something I'd be very interested in playing!

This is good thread. I never really downloaded any scenarios for this game but I'm looking to do so now. Keep the suggestions coming!

        Now that helps!

I just ordered TOT... And El Aurens is to blame for that...

Crap graphics. The stock ToT sprites are dingy and poorly drawn, and the terrain and interface are too dark. Considering the distance in time between civ2 and ToT, there wasn't enough to distinguish the two either.

For scenario design, however, the advantages of ToT over MGE are numerous: 15-bit graphics, multi-map scenarios, more units, units turn to face the direction of movement, individual sound for units, more events space, a better set of events macros and more detailed rules; also the possibility of full-on multi-view sprites. Downsides? the combat graphic sequence has disappeared and the unit slide rate is slower. There's also no editor, but I wouldn't use the buggy FW editor anyway. BTW, if you don't like the new interface and city screen, these can be reverted to original civ views.

Would this be a good time to ask for the ToT civ2 forums to be merged?

You can still order stuff from them, but the shipping really adds up. I've ordered books off US Amazon in the past, and even after the high shipping costs are factored in have ended up saving money compared to the insane prices which are charged for books in this country.

Nick is right. I am also living in Europe and when you order something worth more than 20 € shipment is free

I don´t know. When I type www.amazon.com into my machine I am automatically taken to www.amazon.de though I live in Austria :dknow:

Might be because not many people can read down there...
