arctic and tundra get placed like poka-dots all over the maps, same with... basically, I can't get nice uniform terrain placement.

I'm not sure how to make pics of the maps, but I can attach them here if you want.

I don't know how that can happen? There are plenty of settings to tweak. Especially the Climate and Temperature fine tuning settings should be able to fix it.
By using the "Same Layout" button you can better spot the differences between the settings too...

Could you attach them?
