to be more precise, the battle plans that enabled McClellan to win the battle of Antietam, following which Lincoln released the emancipation proclamation, reducing the chance of UK/France intervention to zero. In the book the CSA wins Antietam, then goes on to win a subsequent battle at Chambersburg, Penn. France and UK impose a peace.

I read HFR, and started the first Great war book.

Couldnt get through it. Style too choppy, too many cliched characters, too little "grand strategy"
