Now I'm confused… d/l at work, but not on gf's computer, play on gf's computer but not at work or elsewhere during wk.

I'm hoping that you'll be able to have it done by 4 or so tomorrow (GMT)

At this stage I would be surprised if I couldn't get 20 turns knocked out in an hour or so tonight. I assume you mean 4 pm, but even if you mean 4 am (?) that would be 11 pm tonight for me.

Monk, I'm not being serious at all about the age, politics or name thing, that last post was an attempt at self-irony. As for conservatism in general, I acknowledge that I did attempt to force my opinions on you all, and I apologize for that. I'll reread the post and see just how rude I were.

I'm having the exact same conversation with my brother whenever we play a board game. I often want to change the rules and he rarely budges an inch. How do you reach a good compromise with those positions?

Let him beat you without putting up any kind of fight. Then suggest you change the rules, so you get more of a chance. Then let him beat you more narrowly. After a couple of defeats then beat him. This will mean he feels he has achieved more by playing in the new style.

Stray: I did mean 4 pm. The reason I can't download at home is simple: no net connection. I can't play Civ at work (for some reason ) and I can't download the game at home so I have to take longer than other people will.

She gets to use my computer and ISP connection in return for helping me stay involved here. I got her playing but it ended badly, a fist on one hip, the other hand pointing or jabbing in my face cursing something about my inability to restrain myself {I kept sneaking looks at the screen and got a raging headache.} :shrug

On a more hopeful note the condition causing my vision problem seems to be improving, if slowly.

BTW, aren't you up in a game or two??

I did Lazy, but Silly takes maximum concentration. I've been working extra hours lately. Good weather means more work on my daytime job.

I used to be able to drag my computer with me and squeeze some Civving in during the slow hours at night job, but less so now. Browsing is easier to get away with.

duke, if we don't hear from Straybow by 4pm your time, go ahead and d/l the previous save and play Sunday.

Don't we play PBEM so that we don't have to get people online at the same time?
