I have just got a reply to the e-mail I sent to STYOM:
He is going to be away from civ2 'at least until the end of January'.

I snuck in my turns for Scorched Earth , so if we pass for a while on STYOM, then next is Sparrow Hawk.

1. I'm all recovered from my nasty cold.
2. My computer problems are near an end—new computer arrived today.
3. Of course it is XP, so that means they are only near an end... I've hated XP on 2 computers I've used.

From my records we have five active succession games (or at least five here that I’m involved in)

Lazy -- Straybow, then Ben Kenobi, then JRabbit

Scorched Earth -- Sparrowhawk (with Sir Snuggles listed next, but yet to enter the fray) and then JRabbit

O Sole Mio -- Straybow, followed by Old n Slow (as Zenon has played)

2nd Sail -- Straybow, then Duke of York

Dirty -- SG [1] (While we’re waiting for STYOM) and Zedd to follow

Stray has got a lot on his plate. I'll be able to play the Sailing Game on Saturday whether my laptop arrives or not so if he hasn't played that by Friday I'll take it on. (if that's all right)

For some months, Straybow has gotten the habit of dropping in these teasing posts that acknowledge he is up, but he doesn't play the turns until much, much later. I hope he has not had a relapse and that real life becomes easier in this new year.

Ah, so that's how a double post comes about. My first post was rewarded with a 'timed out' blank page (after some unusal time, so I rewrote something similar and yesterday, only the second post was there.)

I guess the Gremlin strike is over.

My girlfriend has just called me to tell me that my laptop has been delivered to our house.
Unfortunately, I can't go home and load up MGE this evening, and think it very unlikely that I'll get any turns played before Saturday.
I've got the Sailing .sav already (was going to play it last weekend but forgot), so unless Stray posts his intention to play, he may well be skipped again.

I've now played Sailing, and it doesn't seem as though Stray will be playing in the near future, so we go back to the start of the rotation, looking for someone to get us out of the mess I've put us in.

I'm up next in Dirty, but Zedd hasn't posted the .sav yet. Unfortunately, RL intervenes this week. It's our anniversary this evening and my girlfriend's birthday on Thursday so I doubt that much will be played either night. I can't play on Tuesdays (ever - or Thursdays for that matter), so I'll try to squeeze in the turns on Wednesday evening, while making a birthday cake. So I may have to invite someone else to jump in on Dirty, and then play my turns next weekend, but will keep my options open for the time being.

Things are moving forward very well, with new turns being played in quite a lot of games last weekend.

I've now played Dirty, so we're back to the top of the list, with Old n Slow I believe.
