All that while interesting is reminiscent of the cartoon showing what the pet hears while the master speaks...blah, blah, blah, good dog, blah, blah, good boy, blah, blah, blah.

Won't someone please finish some turnsets???

NWIZ has something to do with your nVidia board, see here:

Is nwiz.exe safe or is it a virus and should you remove it? Find all about nwiz exe windows host process information and fix nwiz erorr Windows.

Why your USER32.dll would be missing yet you boot OK is a mystery to me... Maybe has something to do with "virtual desktops"?

          Usually means unavailable.

Speculation as to origin..."I can't pay you today because my WALLET is "out of pocket."

Try switching your snack to peanuts! The gallery has shown how popular they are.

"Out of pocket" means making a financial loss. I'm not sure what it was supposed to mean when used above, but it means that you pay out more than you get in when making a sale and have to cover the additional expenses from your own funds (your pocket).

I'd like to propose myself for a substitutes bench. I'm only in Sailing at the moment and having just played (again ) my turns in that then I won't have any turns this weekend so if your game is going stagnant then call in the Special Teams! Or me, if they're not available.

Yup. I've seen "out of pocket" used that way, too. That's the trouble with idiom laced speech. You know what you mean but everyone else is prone to wonder.

In this instance there is no question of an available expense account. So, I'm guessing OnS meant he is out of pocket unavailable, not stuck with the bill...until the weekend.

Here's to some good turns...about now.

Now up in two games -- Scorched and Lazy -- playing this weekend, bringing work comp home so I can post before Monday.

Out of pocket in the context of unavailable; I'm back with only a couple of Cfc obligations and one (not counting the EL game that I've started) here -- O Solo Mio.
Those with lower expectations face fewer disappointments

My turns completed in both Scorched Earth and Lazy Summer games.

I believe that means Alec Guiness Ben Kenobi is up in both those games.

Can I possibly fit into one of the games that needs personnel? I know that this isn't a great time to volunteer, because I'll be away for a fortnight at Christmas and won't post here then, but once I get my hands on the new Holy Grail (laptop) then I'll be able to expand my playing options far beyond just Sundays.

I am tempted to start a new succession game, but thought I'd better ask here first as I'm not sure we could cope with another , and it'd be better to finish off an old one first.

                        All-games update

Here's a list of games, the player due to play
and the player who should follow...

Silly Rules -- No activity since November 24!!! Straybow is next, to be followed by Rjmatsleepers.

Second Sailing -- Straybow also at bat here, then Old n Slow.

Lazy Days of Summer -- Hmm, it's almost winter... Ben Kenobi is next (was skipped several months ago). After that, La Fayette.

Scorched Earth -- Ben Kenobi's turn, to be followed by SG [1].

                        O Sole Mio -- Now Old n Slow's turn, then SG [1].

                        C'mon, ppl!!!
If you can't play, just pass the torch. I know we're all busy, but we're seriously bogging down on some of these...

Perhaps the game authors can be persuaded to move things along...

FWIW, I also think that the player lists should be updated to reflect dropouts...

Perhaps the young duke could revitalize some of these moribund franchises...

LA still hasn't got a team, has it?

(not even sure I'd want to live there, but it'd beat the hell out of Leeds)

Ben and Stray have both been spotted in other forums, but Ben mentioned something about exams so that might explain his absence. Not sure which game would have the first (and only) draft pick and end up with my skills () on board, but if you need a stooge then just call.

How is it some folk can write up posts in multiple threads about their RL problems--dead computers-- and announce everywhere "I'm back" but in none of these +1's say they have the save and are going to play???

This is especially rude to the peanut gallery!! The drummer is dragging; someone needs to pick up the tempo.

Maybe the thought of losing one of these games has these laggards quivering in the corner with thumb in mouth.

                              Someone, please, "deal the cards."

I have put Straybow on the clock in Sailing. I was giving him some leeway just because of the tech problems.

I'll do the same with BK in Scorched... since he seems to have abandoned succession games for the moment.
