Please tell me which one do you want so that you are not once again on the bad side of the story.

I'm so glad to be back in my upcoming palace in Sad King Julius that I feel very generous

      • 1836ad What ? We don’t have more cities than that ? And no espionage yet. With the special rules to obey, it’s going to be tough. I start building a palace in Sad King Julius and hit enter. Only bright point : we are rich, 4847 gold.
1838ad. Greeks lose many units. We steal Communism from Corinth. Embassy with Babylonians. It’s hard to raze cities when you have no spy and there is no unit in them !
1840ad Newly founded greek city of Sycon razed. Embassy with the Mongols. We’re now looking for espionage.
1842ad Corinth walls are down. No more units in.
1844ad Still killing greek units and trying to establish some railroads.
1846ad. With moderate power and spotless reputation, we are sneaked attacked by Egyptians. They sink our transport with the 4 camels that should have brought us espionage !!!
1848ad. We raze another greek city, Pharsalus, I believe. Spice to Avignon. For more than 3000 gold cost, we incite revolt and capture Heliopolis. I like the name, so I don’t change it. I hope we can defend the city. I wanted to avenge the loss of the caravans, but was it a good decision as my second city ?
1850ad More beating on the greeks. Egyptians can’t get at us … yet. Pergamon razed.
1851ad. Chinese sneak attack us ! (why ???) and they sink an empty transport. A transport with five caravans leaves for the French continent. May the gods be with us.

        • Some very impressive razing, Julius -- 3 cities in 8 turns, without spies. Plus, a foothold city in Egyptia. Outstanding!

Hope that transport has an escort...

I believe that makes is SG[1]'s turn, to be followed by Old n Slow.

          • Greeks are annoying but no real threat. Egyptians, Chinese and French should be another story. Why did they sneak attack me. We have 2651 gold. If the transport and its 5 caravans reach the French, we should get espionage and the power to bribe another fat city.
Overall, the situation is quite difficult and I am afraid I did not improve it enough.
Good luck to my successor : here is the save.

              No, there is no escort

Heliopolis is protected by 3 riflemen now, but if it is bribed on the next turns, we don't have no foothold

Got to cross fingers and hope my luck is better than my skills

              • As to "why??" you were attacked.... It is probably as simple as this is MPGE and it is post 1750 and the AI hate all humans.

                Don't take it personally.

Friendly recommendation -- send out an empty boat, then a second, then ship chain the camels -- try not to have a loaded boat at sea longer than necessary (hard to do in the beginning, but at this stage, it should be standard operating procedure.)

                  • Sounds good JB, but I would echo the ship chain suggestion.
Will get to this asap - but probably not today unfortunately.
