Hi guys, I can't open the save - it is the usual 'can't open the turn due to assets in the mod folder being locked' thingy.
I'm patched to the latest version of BtS.
Did you start this game under the latest patch?Comment

It's not about knowingly getting it wrong. It's about experience in knowing what is best to focus on. More techs? More cities? Large city size? More improvements? More units? etc..Originally posted by akulla

I reinitiated this game making sure that it was all upgraded properly...
So, on that note: If players are now having problems with the save once it has been sucessfully played and passed to the next player in line - Obviously the first indication of a problem would lie in the player trying to play the game but can't.
Here is a check list Players need to address if they can't play a save: (This is NOT gospel, it is just off the top of my head):
1. Do you have loaded a VALID copy of BtS? (If you have a 'crack' then you do NOT)
2. Have you tried deleting ALL CIV files from your computer and reloading them? (This includes save files and ESPECIALLY DELETING any MODs you have downloaded and tried out)
2a. CAVEAT: This is why I have not downloaded and installed the latest "UNOFFICIAL" Patch being advertised here in Aployton and elsewhere. Remember, it is "unofficial" and not endorsed by the programmers of this game.
I am having a definate feeling that 2a listed above is the problem.

I do have a question for you Andy: Do you have BtS uploaded on your system? If you don't, this might be the culprit... Since the official patch messes with both BtS files, Warlords files, and CivIV basic files which would explain your current problem

My version of BtS is not a crack, its from the DVD i purchased in the shop. I have installed only the latest offical patch - i.e. not Solver's one or anyone elses. I have not installed any mods of any kind.
Other BtS PBEMs work fine on my system.Comment

I didn't mean to acuse you of anything Andy. After rereading my post #413, I do appear to come across rather strongly. It wasn't my intent.
Ricketyclik made an interesting observation in the Jailbreaker Part II Thread:
This was his response to my statement: "...I imagine so since both he and I were able to play the turn..." (concerning being properly patched):
So if this is the case, then the problem might be with Akulla...Not necessarily. I was able to play a Warlords PBEM against an updated opponent when I wasn't, but he was having trouble opening my turns.
Does anyone know if Akulla is currently playing in other PBEM games?

I'm willing to do what ever it takes to get this game going guys. I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling BtS to the latest patch if that will help, but I doubt it will do much and perhaps you're onto something Wittlich when you say that Akulla isn't patched?
Let me know what i need to do.

I really think that until we hear anything from Akulla - he is most likely the factor here - and there isn't much that any one of can do about it (except for initiating a new game and scapping this one that is).
