And then Ricketyclik is going to be gone from Jan 3 through somewhere around the 14th. That's a pretty long time; perhaps we should pause for that as well or find him a substitute. Seems like too many turns to just go on auto-orders.

Sounds good to me, too. I think it's gonna be tough to find a time we can all play though, since we're spread out at -8, -6, -5, +2, and +10 UTC.
I found this "international meeting planner" on the web; it lines up the time zones next to each other, color-coded for "normal sleeping hours," "normal business hours," and "normal waking non-business hours":
Results from the Meeting Planner that finds a suitable time to call or meet with people from around the world.
I know the cities aren't necessarily correct, but that link shows a comparison of -8 (Los Angeles), -5 (Detroit), +2 (Athens), and +10 (Brisbane).
In general, I'm willing to play any time between 8am and 2am local time and might be able to play even outside those times if necessary.

That is a very useful website
I included all timezones for all of us: World Clock Meeting Planner
I can play nearly any time so we shall give priority to those with restricted time program. I won't be able to play however between New Year's Eve evening and New Year's Day afternoon.
Generally when in Europe it is night, it is noon to America and morning in Oceania.

Any idea how long everyone wants to play?Let me explain something to you..... I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing. - The Big Lebowski(1998)
