Regarding the double move - one rule being proposed for the democracy game is that if you are at war with another civ, you need to give them at least half the turn time to make their move. In other words - if you were at war with Germany, and you were the last player to play your turn, you could not make your next move until either a) Germany played, or 12 hours is up (assuming a 24 hour turn timer).

This seems like a reasonable allowance to make. It still leaves the early game scout rush to a hut, or settler rush to a prime spot - but I haven't seen much of that happening in the pitboss games I have been involved in.

sabre - try pitboss! You'll like it!

And I did a tally - and even though there are 3 hours to go, number 1 has garnered 6 of the ten votes. Wyatt will have his dinner and then start the draft.

Here is your draft committee (my better half, Eleanor, and Wyatt the Wonder Dog) at Blue Springs State Park about a month ago.

Better not feed Wyatt too much dinner, or he might not make it through the draft.

Ok - so the draft will happen shortly. Into one hat will go 10 names:

              Ephack
              Beta
              Pinchak
              dacole
              snoopy369
              Andydog
              sabrewolf
              Geomodder
              Mrboo123
              BigFree

And into the other hat, 10 civs:

              Carthage
              Egypt
              Persia
              Greece
              Rome
              Spain
              Celts
              France
              Ottomans
              Mali

From the first hat will come one name, to be matched witha civ chosen from the second hat. That is one player. The second player and civ so chosen will join the first as a team. Third will play with fourth, etc.

Damn - now my dinner is ready. Gotta wait a bit longer.

(and you know, I haven't done this much work with scissors and little pieces of paper since grade school. )

Official draft photograph - showing the first name out of the hat - and most appropriately - it is Andydog.

And this will be my second, one month after having begun the first one. You see, once you've done it once, you want only one thing: do it again!
Shouldn't be a big deal: if I made it, everybody should be able to make it

Oh, fine, I like Hanni My only concern is that I will have to crush France, what a pity... But don't worry Beta, I won't hesitate once the occasion is here

One more question, about communication: I suppose we don't have the right to communicate game-data between ourselves before we actually meet in the game. But is that true even with our teammate? Or shall we share some strategic informations from the beginning of the game?

In a team game, once teams are set, you can and should communicate immediately. In game, you will be sharing maps and techs - in fact - you can both work on the same tech to halve the research time.

Communication with other teams will be dependent on meeting them in the game.

What do you mean with that one? I would in the contrary work on different techs to be able to exchange them afterwards... How can you work together on one tech?

Lets say it would take you 10 turns to research bronze for instance.

If you and your teammate both choose bronze as your research tech, you will both get it in 5 turns.

Very simplified example, but you get the picture.
