New team game

I think the game is screwed up on dacoles end right now.

I tried to log in and the game sticks of the "finishing" screen. I logged into two other games with no issues and then tried this game again with the same results.

I went to CivStats to see if maybe dacole was offline and I see some one named "ToxoXI" had logged into the game for 3+ hours straight during the times I was trying to log in. Maybe this is/did cause an issue.

Anyone else?

It did that for me a few times too, but I eventually got through on the third time (it's the charm ).

ToxoXI is Beta by the way. It's his fault.

I just wanted to thank Dacole because I have absolutely no issues connecting to the game, which is great. And very different from another game hosted by a certain Beta, who calls himself ToxoXI, probably to try to blur the evidence that he is to blame...

I have noticed this 'ToxoXI hogging the connection for himself' thing too.
One time Beta had been connected to the game for 5 hours and his firewall prevented me to connect. It was late at night and I had no other choice than go to sleep and hope that he was not connected in the morning.

Fortunately he wasn't and I was able to play the turn.


But, I don't blame Beta. It is not his fault that he is old and slow, and thus it takes many hours for him to complete his turn.

Beta, how do you exit the game? That has been shown to be a problem in other PTBS games; if you "Exit to Desktop" or use the upper-right-corner X to quit (windowed), it doesn't exit properly and makes it hard for others to connect. If you use "Exit to main menu" first, it works fine. This is not 100% consistent I think but for certain people it is necessary ...

I end my turn using enter. And then I ALWAYS exit to the main menu.

Provi and Rhoth are making this stuff up.

I admit - there may have been one or two nights where I remained logged into a game - The new World comes to mind - but this is not one of them. So I am not sure what is happening.

And I may be old - but as to slow...I would still challenge anyone here to a foot race.

(btw - I was the fastest on my high school football team - fastest in my regiment in the reserves, much to the chagrin of the master coprorals and sergeants who tried to catch me - and continued my running, more or less, into my later life. )

I have noticed you do seem to be on for a long time as well...I suggest the next time you log in and out you send me a message so we can see if it is actually logging you out. May explain why I see you logged in then I can't send you messages in game...
