Here is a suggestion from Robert regarding a voting system:

The best way of voting was imho creating 2 or 3 categories, and then give every player 10 vote-points, they can spread over the players. And never let them award more then 3 vote points per player.
ie.
Player 1 votes:
Category 1: (ie. story telling)
player 2: 2p
player 3: 1p
player 4: 3p
player 5: 0p
player 6: 2p
player 7: 2p
Category 2: (ie. role playing)
....
Some tool is needed to collect the votes. (Or just send them to the organizer by e-mail.)
The first posts of the last games I organzed show the rules/matters of voting we used.
I certainly want to continue. Byzantium and China are way ahead of me .
Our reasoning before the game started was that the scenario is not equal but fun. China and Byzantium are ahead from the start.
Becoming China (by chance) I decided to play it 'with restraint'. I'm not in it to knock players out-of-the-game.
On some occasions I took / take the harder / less obvious road:
* I did not attack Vietnam at game start (which would have been very possible)
* the moment it became clear Korea still was being played, I stopped my invasion and transferred back all winnings.
Still it is no special accomplisment to be ahead as China..
but I feel I can make a decent game of it, especially if Byzantium is turned into an AI. It will take a lot of team work to bring Byzantium down but it can be done and I like the challenge
I find the game fun to play. And a new phase is starting: the colonial phase, and perhaps the crusade against Byzantium. I reckon enough to do for everybody..
No least I didn't PM him. He last posted 1st Aug, in response to queries about his absence and seems not to have played for weeks.
Obviously we would prefer him back but currently the active players finish relatively quickly then we have like a 10 hour wait until the turn ticks over.
