You should arrange a sub before you disappear for two weeks. Or at least let us know how long you'll be gone and whether you are coming back or not.

@MNGoldenEagle:
I'm gone for only 15 turns (or something like that) and suddenly my people are up in arms! Not sure what's going on there. Anyway, I'm back now.
Multiple posts on the subject have been made, without any reaction from you..
Arnelos:
Is there no player for Korea? Been several turns where that one hasn't been played and there's now 7 hours left on the clock with only Korea left to go.
China is deeply worried about the continuing unrest in Korea.
There have been rumours that the Korean government is in disarray.Message to Korean government officials: please contact us as quickly as possible.A small Chinese expeditionary force has moved into the Wosan region, to control it.
The moment we are contacted by the rightful rulers of Korea, we are prepared to transfer control immediately.
That said, in the spirit of sportsmanship I am prepared to stop the invasion and transfer Wosan back to you.
PS. By not playing, without sub, all other players have to wait the full turn timer until the turn flips..

So, I have to shoot it pointblank - who was you in DoF?Originally posted by LzPrst View PostMe? In DoF? Was that the one where Russia and Germany kept fighting huge wars with scores of allies on all sides? If so, I was India.

I am on vacation and remarkably this place has no wireless conection. Fortunatly I can play at my brothers place a few blocks away but we are running around having "fun" (as much fun as you can have on a vacation organizing four families with kids) and I can not check in as often as usual. Also with the game going down so much I may miss my ony oppertunity that day. Long story short, could the turn timer please be set to max through this next weekend until I get back home, August 15? also. DoF, I was France. had great fun all game, fought a border skirmish with Spain that ended up being a drawn out conflict ending in Spain's destruction. in the meantime I also plotted an invasion of carthage in cooperation with Rome that never materialized.
However, upon smashing through Spain's final defences, my huge army was gone the next turn I logged in. Portugal had built a hidden railsystem in Spain's south and destroyed my entire army in a single turn. At that point I realized I was doomed, I had no troops, was technologically inferior and had an inferior economy. the shock of it was too much. I gave up and told Portugal that I surrendered and left the game. I could have fought a drawn out survival to the finish, but the military situation was equivalent to throwing spears at tanks, so I gave up.
in hindsight, I should have just taken some cold turkey time, but not sure if that game had that option...Last edited by LzPrst; August 11, 2012, 03:30.Diplogamer formerly known as LzPrst

also. regarding various people's absences in this game... I do suspect that the lack of activity both in the story and diplomatic arenas makes the game a little stale, resulting in people putting their interest in it on a low burn. I didn't even catch that Russia was gone until my explorer found Byzantine cities in the Urals.Diplogamer formerly known as LzPrst

I am resigning from this game. It's just not what I had expected. Although the past week of activity (that I missed due to vacation) has been hopeful, the game's been fairly dead since the first few weeks, and I fully expect it to return to such a state soon. I took on the Khmer by choice, despite knowing that they were by far the most-behind civ in the game, simply due to wanting to role-play the position out as in DoE1 (as I live in Vietnam currently). Unfortunately, this game has been quite the opposite of DoE1 in the diplomacy/RP realm, and I see little reason to continue soldiering on given that I'm fairly on the periphery. Without an ability to really do good story-telling, I have no interest in the diplogame format.
The civ is in decent enough shape if someone wants a little challenge, and I've certainly built it up well enough to compete with the non-Chinese neighbors, so it's quite playable still. This isn't Zulu in DoE1 by any means. But the diplogame setup NEEDS diplomacy and story-telling to be enjoyable and worth my time, and this game lacks both. I have additional reasons, but these should suffice as explanation.
