  • I am utterly confused..

    Just looked around in my new Neandor spot:

    1) I thought we had a 10 turn NAP with all !

    2) Neandor (me) seems to have declare war on England this turn ????

    3) The Turks have declared war on Vikings this turn.. and conquered a city

    4) The Turks are sending me rifflemen ??


    This is not what I signed up for: either we could freely make new alliances and stuff..
    or we would have the old ones in place.. and we would have time to prepare for things..

    Now Neandor has neither..

    • Furthermore to have instantly war without any chance to get accustomed to the position,
      and to have the chance to interact diplomatically with my surrounding states is ridiculous..

      Especailly in such a confusing position..

      • I believe that was the state of affairs that led to the long pause and debate about finishing the game, finding new players, etc.

        If the NAP passed the vote, then everyone should pull back their troops and just avoid attacking each other until the 10 turns are finished.

            • Eh, the good old matushka Rus.... To see it after so much time...

              And yes, the 10 turn NAP was the most preferred option, so you warmongers must just back off of each-other. I guess just like in the last Great War you all sign 10-turns peace AND open borders and keep it this way at least till the 11-th turn from now on. You can continue then warring if you still so desire.

                • Sorry guys seems that i am a bit rusty on how to install mods. What i did is follow Robert's example: Unpack this file in (example): c:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\PublicMaps\

                  What i did is, I just throw the asset folder into the PublicMaps. BTS loads fine, ones i log as the Vikings it tells me that me and the host have different files. Still it lets me continue on, what happens is the whole save/game loads, but just before it lets me on the game screen it crashes saying something like different game files (Better to exit/quit the game)

                  Any ideas? Sorry as i said i have forgotten many things here .

                  Any help is welcomed!!

                    • Hmm, I am quite sure you must extract the mod archive in

                      c:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods

                      and all mod files must be in

                      c:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Destiny of Empires

                      and that must be enough. No need for public maps and moving around assets directory.

                        It is up to what you agree with Arabia/India and to some extent with Russia, as we were in process of negotiating the fate of the Chinese cities. But I am quite sure nowhere was Neandor mentioned as beneficent of Chinese cities. They were discussed only as providers of arms along with Arabia and Russia, so India, Mongolia and Japan could have some part of China. The debates who exactly must get what exactly were so heated, that at some point warnings, threats and military struggle between the supposed coalition partners were mentioned.

                        It is still a bit unclear who gets what though. I guess we continue the discussion with Arabia as they were the most active diplomatically and they put the most efforts in fighting the Chinese? Also, any ideas from other parties are welcomed. Catherine invited few nations to a conference where the future of East Asia to be discussed and decided just before the game paused and few world leaders announced they will attend.

                        Maybe this is the time to ask what we do with Mongolia. The Mongolian player never showed in about two months now and it is unlikely that we find a replacement for Mongolia. Shall we left it as mindless AI or include it in to the partitioning plans?

                          • Bantams, I think China is no longer available to be taken, as it is with only 4 cities left - 2/3 of its cities are razed or taken. But I think we will need a player for Mongolia.
