      • Good.

Now, can we agree on the Vikings' plan to simply divide the turn into two halves, and each player must play their turn in their half or they miss it. No pausing or reloading.

        • Vikings plan??

          Anyway I agree

The other thing is that when Declaring you should have to choose a bloc, or you should have to declare in the same part of the turn when your chosen bloc moves.

For example, if you are going to DoW Japan, you know good and well that Japan us in 1st position, so you should wait for Indias turn to DoW Japan. And if you foolishly move before Japan, then you lose first turn automatically so that you can be in India's bloc. In fact, when DoWing ANYONE in bloc 1 you automatically put yourself in bloc 2, and vice versa. That makes it simpler.

As far as what happens when you are simultaneously at war with blocs 1 and 2, I would say we can table that issue and just cross that bridge if and when we come to it.

Or we could put the burden on the party who creates the 3 bloc situation, ie lengthen the turn, and make them move in the middle period. Just some ideas for eliminating pauses and reloads.

          • Hmm, strange: just tried to log in, but it started to hang halfway through so I exited the game. When I try to connect again, it hangs at 'connected to host'. According to PYT, I am logged in. But I can't get in.

            • It was the Ottomans' plan not the Vikings, though if you really want me to I can take credit for it.

              • Ok, now this was really weird: I got an out of sync error as I logged in, and I had to choose what to put in some city's build queue. Because I wanted to get rid of the build queue prompt thingie, I pressed enter a few times, but then the turn rolled. I immediately exited, because technically I am still at war with the Ottoman Empire and they are first in the turn order (though we have no troops near one another at the moment so there is no way I could double move anything or take advantage of the situation, so I assume the Ottoman Empire will not demand a reload). Anyway, an out of sync error while I am the only one logged in, does that mean that I am out of sync with the pitboss? Never had that happen before...

                    • Sorry people, my server keeps crashing. Apparently it's all too much for it. I'm looking for solutions. If someone else wants to host till some solutions are found, please post here. For now the game is down. I hope to be able to get it up asap.

                      • Sigh...

I have like 3 non-stop running powerful PCs at work at my leisure, but the Cisco network is so complex configured, so it does not allow any ping outside of the network

                        • I have a comp that isnt used for much, but it is 3 years old, the graphics card overheats whenever it runs a game and it is not a dedicated server... any chance of making use of it?

                          • Well, my server is 4 or 5 years old
A pitboss server isn't using the graphics card. The problem with my server is that it is running 2 pitboss servers and my lotus domino server, which is my http and my mail server.

I have now started DoE again and decided to keep DoF down for now to see how things are going.

Russia has computers and the Internet already?!
