BFS. First letter stands for 'bull'. You can figure out the second and third.

Game is paused on the third time I try to play my turn.

Looks like we all miss a turn because of this crap.

I am not amused. End of day here.

RP and Ozzy - you need to intervene here. This is nonsense.

You've been caught in this endless pauses business for days now, weeks! Pauses don't work because nobody really knows what is going on, nobody can plan how long they have to play, and you then get pauses frozen because of diplo screens at its a nightmare.

I know everyone will groan saying we want it moving faster not slower, and so reject longer turns, but look how many turns you have actually played in the last week! Accept its hard to get people to play in turn order, adopt long turns (36 hours), and you have a happy, reliable, no-pausing game, until the wars end. Aim for faster, and you get slower in reality anyway.

Here ends to unasked for advice from a lurker!
I say BS. We ran a 6 civ war for umpteen turns without any pauses. This is two players, much like the Japanese and Indian situation, who cannot get their act together.

The frustrating thing is the turns are pretty long as is. I think this turn was like 24 hours ish. There really isn't much of an excuse for all these issues. People just need to make time to take their turns or deal with the consequences of missing them.

                • Once more we appologize for our part in this.
(for what it is worth I really tried hard to get it corrected last night (tried to play turn around 22.00hrs my time, was stuck in diplo screen, was finally able to play it at 2.48 (AM) my time).

From next turn onwards we will move in the first half of the turn: so within 13 hours.

                  • Next turn is longer. There's not much I can do, not letting people play their turns is worse.
But at least live up to what I said: if someone logged in early and didn't finish his turn without notifying us here, consider it as a finished turn.

My guess is that because of obvious reasons, the Aztecs are relying and waiting for diplomatic resolving of this war and other powers to take their time in reading/sending diplo, deciding how to act, rather than actually playing Azteca turn. In the Great War it was clear who is who and what he wants, so we just played our turns without pausing and half-way actions despite we were divided in three time zones with you France, playing in the last one.

Wow France that's harsh, Especially considering it was for my AFV. The first letter stands for 'Anni', the third stands for 'Versary', you can figure out the second.

Annway, I played and paused for you (even though I know Im not supposed to pause for countries who arent at war) Hopefully the dreamweavers will forgive me as France seems pretty sore about possibly missing his turn (must be something important)... Maybe its because France feels like he is at War even though he not tecnically at War ... Hmmm I wonder who he could possibly feel like he is at war with.

And as far as me "getting my act together" goes, I was left the last 3 hours of a 28 hour turn to play... I can remember pausing quite a few times for France in the last War because of the very same situation (and I never complained about it BTW). I dont know where this rosy-eyed-glasses, romaticized, it-was-better-back-then attitude about the last war is coming from, cause we paused alot in the last War... and it was usually for France.

                          This is true.

But I understand all other players are influenced by this. Like I said I will adhere to a more strict first turn half time scheme.

Excuse me? In what way have India and Japan not gotten our act together? We have fought this war for more than a dozen turns without any issue. The only problem was when Japan forgot to move in its turn and India then for no reason other than to be a good sport, agreed to swap the turn order to allow Japan to regain the advantage they had given India by not playing their turn. I do not like accusations (which the Japanese made) and that was what the discussion here was about. There was some unclarity in the situation which needed to be resolved, but aside from that Japan and India have played every turn without pause I believe.

I would appreciate it if you would retract that statement.

Also, a lot of our problems stem from the pausing which causes civs that are in diplo-screens to be unable to play their turns. Silly design as that is we have to work around it, and the best way to do that is to NOT PAUSE. If civs can not play their turns in the allotted time then they should lose their turn.

Another work-around is less harsh. Civs at war can not be contacted through the diplo-screen. That should solve the issue as well.

Sorry France but your blaming the wrong two civs here. India and I where going just fine apart from a small rough patch. We have been able to play 18hr turns before the ottoman, American, Aztec war without fault.

Also who are we waiting for? I always take my turn early although it doesn't show on pyt that I finish so who else is the game being paused for?

My apologies. I was not upset for you going out, but for the situation. Hope you had a good time.
