Yes, Azteca - you can login even now and play before the Ottomans - you dont have to keep turn order with the USA, because you two are not in war.
The Ottomans are right about you have to choose if you declare or you dont declare war. From what I heard, there is much to bargain before a lasting peace is achieved between Turkey and USA, and it can just not happen if the two parties insist on their demands. So if you want to declare war, do so now, or otherwise the Ottomans are free to play wherever they want in the turn timer, as they are already at peace with the USA.

Aztecs are still online. So obviously they read my first message that I was not recognizing the provisional DoW after they had a chance to login and play. It was fine for a 'lock-in diplo screen situation' but not after... And surely they read my 2nd message basically repeating that. So I say go ahead and unpause. If Aztecs dont DoW before I login then I consider there to be no war and thus no turn-order.

I can now unpause. Or the Aztecs will unpause and declare/not declare?

@ Natives - I was fine with the ORG thread DoW while Aztec were locked in Diplo screen. I understood why they were doing it. But sticking with that after being able to play your turn just seems like tactics to me, like trying to continue to force me to play in the last 2 hours of tunr (like now), without any of the consequences (like war weariness for example). And natives, if your around, could you please unpause the game after yelling at me?
For clarification, Aztec, after you logged in and said your were stuck in diplo screen, you logged in later and ended your turn. If you wanted to preserve turn, order, why didn't you DoW then? I am confused about that...Originally posted by Aztecs (DoE) View PostOK what happened is:
Ottoman move: capture Miami with entire army, Havana still owned
++++++ next turn
Aztec move: no attacks, but army at standby, declare war in ORG thread (as screen locked, goal: to make sure turn order is secured)
American move
Ottoman move: peace with Americans (so I read)
If the Ottoman - American peace is true and finalized, then I also offer peace. And then turn order does not have to be ensured.
Anyway, it seems to me that you have got to either DoW to preserve turn order, or give up turn order. Announcing you want to preserve turn order is all well and good for people feeling chivalrous, especially when you are locked in a diplo screen, but not when you have actually had an opportunity to login DoW and play.
At any rate, as a former wartime opponent once said to me. "Announcing that you want to reserve first position in war does not make it so, first position is determined by the rules, not by 'calling it'.
"
Anyway, reading the log it seems what is happening now is...
Aztec try to move but locked in diplo screen
Aztec move - end turn
Americans move - end turn
Turkey try to move but locked in diplo screen
So now it is Turkey's move. If Aztecs want to login for the limited purposes of unpausing the game so I can play, and Declaring War to preserve turn order then fine. If not, then I will toddle off back to bed and wait tommorow for someone else to be online the same time as me (NOT Japan
) to unpause. But I think this situation of 'calling' first move without DoW is just not going to work. Either DoW or don't. That's my thinking.
I notice Natives and Aztecs are still online BTW... unfortunately neither has logged in to unpause

This is getting silly. You've been notified of a DoW. The fact that the mechanics of the game have prevented completion shouldn't matter. You act like this is a game governed by laws and argued in court. If this is how the game proceeds, I have no intention of getting involved in it again.

American - Ottoman Peace is not finalized there is much business to discuss between us as Americans have many more demands as I understand it.
Aztec, please login and unpause the game and either DoW or... not DoW and relinquish turn order. I do not acknowledge turn order if you have not DoWed yet. I am saying publicly that I will NOT consider it a doublemove and I disavow any right to do so. If you login and unpause, in next 10 mins I will login and play as normal as I still have not been able to even get in the game. If you DoW you get first position. If the turn ends with no Aztec DoW then there are no "positions".
I will wait 20 mins and then go back to sleep. I will post again when going back to sleep. If I go back to sleep please pause after playing anyone who plays so I can play when I get up.

I am quite confused (easily enough done, admittedly) at this point about who is at war with whom in my hemisphere. Could we get some confirmation of what, exactly, is the status of the "war" there at this point? I'm not easily able to conduct any diplomacy under what could truly be described as the "fog of war" here!

Yea Japan stay out of the game or we will have to do another reload
I can wait, its no biggie. Anyway, I am going to sleep soon, so please keep the game paused until tommorow. Hopefully there will be more folks around during the day tommorow and we can get back underway
I will post when I wake up/am available to play.

Stuck in diplo screenOriginally posted by Russia (DoE) View PostAs I get it, it is peace between the Ottomans and the USA. Aztecs were eager to fend off the Ottomans from America and declared war in the ORG thread. Or at least this is my impression.
But yes this was my impression too. But since the Aztecs have since logged in and finished their turn I would assume that they actually declared war.
Unfortunately, I cant tell because of course I am stuck in a diplo screen.
Otherwise there would be no turn order right since I am not officially at war with anyone right? Meaning I could finish my moves this turn and then just play my next turn without waiting for anyone else to play right?
I need someone to unpause... Natives? Anyone? Bueller? I will just try to stay logged in and by my CPU so if it gets unpaused I can quickly log in and play. 1hr 50 mins left so hopefully my turn isnt too complicated.

If the war has become peace, is the longer turn needed?
