I have requested a sub for tomorrow, I hope he will agree, as I do need to undertake a total system rebuild as I cannot run CivV on a Tri-Core with 2g RAM and a crappy old ATI Video Card. If he does agree he will put (Sub) after ANON. If not then I may miss a turn but then c'est la morte as French chronic depressives would say.

The IC and OOC has gotten quite mixed up here.

This is a testament to the fact that this game turned out to be equally good as any diplo game! So much diplo exists in PYT and quite a bit on this thread. I think we should regard everything as IC and stay friends. Even a 25 turn peace deal posted here can be broken; same deal with nukes. We can't have any OOC strictures since there are few rules. Just my two cents. Up to the hosts.

On another note IC of course. Strider of Gondor has not taken any AI cities (since they have all been far away) and the last great war weakened Gondor severely and, like Rome we are down the bottom as a result. Also, I considered it poor form to beat up on the Mongols who have shown incredible dedication where many others have given up. If this was ffa Gondor would be much bigger but I prefer this diplomatic form of play for a change.

Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty

The antyi nuclear-weapon lobbyists have managed to convince me to propose a treaty about banning nuclear weapons..for a time..
the terms:
-Only those nations are protected by this treaty who sign it
-participating nations must not do effort to learn the technology "mass media" (this must be in because the Desertlord insists)
-the treaty lasts untill 1850

((ooc-since many of you dislike the idea of nuclear war I propose the above treaty. I thought starting a nuclear holocaust which would potentially weaken the two most advanced civs: me bombing Russia, Russia bombing me.. would be actually fun and good for the game..it may happen later . But, since we won't do it now I don't want any nation to be held back by nuclear threat.
Some facts about mass media: it only disables the apostolic palace if the owner has the tech. And it allows building the un which can allow the other kind of diplomatic victory and can ban the nukes-Egypt don't want the nukes to be permamently banned..))

**Actually thinking about it..no one really have to sign anything.. I consider the treaty broken if someone completes the manhattan project or start researching Mass media.. Otherwise it lasts untill 1850 or later if we choose to.

Egypt, you can veto any UN resolution, so it's in your hands if you want nukes to be there or not.
I don't see any UN resolution lead to a diplomatic winner. I only see America and Mongolia vote for another nation then themselves.

Rome is sick of wars, we now only desire peace for our nation so that we can rebuild our cities and expand our corporations. Rome has proven against Egypt that it can counter any invasion very effectively. Rome will sign any nuclear non-proliferation pact.

The Gods Show Their Judgement on The Arrogance of Egypt

Two great victories to report, Great Conclave.

The northern Egyptian army has been destroyed. A large army - infantry, machine guns, canons, a great general - exterminated in the hills above our city. Our own losses - canonry, and one unit of riflemen and knights. You should have heard the elephants squeeling as they trampled the machine guns.

The Egyptian amphibious army which has seized a coastal city - destroyed, and many fighters destroyed on the airfields.

Still Egypt will destroy us, but the battle will be long. This was nearly half their field army destroyed. But with complete naval and air supremecy, we cannot stand against them. The vultures are sharpening their claws, the corpse of Egypt will be ready for eating soon.

The Great Conclave pondered the reports.

The old dream that Hinduism might have dominance in the world had long past. There had been a moment years ago when it almost happened. But the possibility had long past once Egypt realised the possibility and started to spread Hinduism in its own cities rapidly. Of course Egypt continued to scare people pretending it was a possibility as a justification for its lust for land and power, but the great Conclave knew it was impossible and had been for decades.

But, perhaps this was the destiny of the Hindu people. To save the world from Egyptian dominance. To bring down the Egyptian army into the mud, for all its technology they were men who died as easily as any other. Others would be the ones who would conquer Egypt, others would take the spoils, but Hindustan would have struck the crucial blow.

The despondance which had lingered over the Great Conclave in recent years had lifted. The Messianic Warrior had proven that the gods were with them, and that their destiny was clear. Cities would fall, Hindus would die, but vengeance would also come.

It is true that there were some disturbing turn of events.. if it has something to do with the Hinduistan god (longbowmen killing my riflemen..) Just one more reason to not let it rule the world.

Let it be known Hindustan, that Sumeria may agree with nought else with Egypt but here they are fighting a just and rightful war.

Our belief is such that if requested Sumeria will join Egypt in their just campaign to rid the World of the disgrace that is your Theocratic desire to dominate all nations.

..Give what modest, far too modest in my opinion, requests Egypt asks or you will lose your colonies as well. You will not get them back in a Treaty for they will have simply have ceased to exist.

Thank you for your words, but we don't want to escalate this war. We sill hope babylon will come to her senses eventually.
And yes my demands are really modest. Egypt just hopes when She is facing overhelming enemies they will be as merciful as we were.. (asking for 3 small cities which were not even Babylon's 20 turns ago).. This is all hipotetical question of course..

You are right. Everyone does seem to have adapted their style to full on Diplo-mode regardless of the lack of rules. Bizarrely the Anon here has also been better kept to than I have witnessed before as well.

I also salute Mongolia as others have quit from stronger positions but he has kept going. I won't mix IC and OOC by giving Gilgamesh's opinion on Mongolian real-estate but I agree that anyone who picked on them would be hitting pretty close to rock bottom. Actually, it is a pretty good statement on the attitude within the game that Sumeria, America, Russia and Gondor who all could have attacked them have never even made the attempt.

I will be very interested in the cast list when this is over.

The Messianic Warrior of the Hindu People reported to the Great Conclave

The war continues. The Egyptian navy has once more seized land on the coast and then our brave warriors have recovered the land. While they hold naval superiority with their oil powered vessels, we cannot stop them raiding the coasts, but we can destroy them on land. Their ships have retired to the Egyptian coasts, but we must assume they will return with more marines.

The Egyptian Southern Army (the partner to the destroyed Northern Army) attacked our border city. At great coast our Hindu defenders repulsed it. However, it is unlikely the city can hold for long.

The outcome of the war continues to look as I predicted, my lords. The Egyptians are suffering greatly, losing forces they cannot replace, weakening with every year. However, we weaken faster and cannot stand against their bombers. Hindustan will fall, my lords, but in the process Egypt will weaken itself so much that others will destroy it.

The Great Conclave muttered support. Knowing that there was no possibility of a Hindu victory (save when Egypt seized the shrine and build a new shadow Hinduism) but knowing too that Hindustan was fulfilling its divine purpose, much to the delight of the foreign ambassadors and military advisors.

So when the Hindus realise they can not rule the world they decide on suicide..Why am I always surrounded by fanatic fools? I'm afraid Egypt won't help you leave this world so easily..We will just fortify those cities we have, taking a few more less defended, it's enough to be sure you won't be able to achieve your religious dominance-and then leave you.. maybe in a sobber moment you will realise how big price you have paid for your arrogance..then you can continue to dream on..about your hinduistan non-sense..

Egypt will immediately will offer peace to Babylon and not just by giving back those cities we took, but also we will offer enough hindu colonial cities of our own to them which will ensure they would have more than enough vote by the next round of votes.

The truth - finally - escapes Desertbrains lips.

Read what he says, nations of the world. The only way for Hindustan to win a DV is for Egypt to give it Egyptian colonies. Egypt admits that Hindustan being given back all the cities Egypt has taken from it, would not actuallygive Hindustan enough votes. Thus, they admit their war had never been necessary to avoid some Hindu domination. They knew it, we said it. But it was a good cover for lust for power, land and money, and to cut down any neighbour who would not join their aggression against Rome.

Hindustan's great crime? No some desertbrained scheme for world domination, but not agreeing to be Egypt's slaves in an alliance of Egypt, Sumaria and Hindustan against Russia, Gondor, America and Rome.

Now the true is out, we will die in peace.
