  • A little harsh perhaps - possibly blatant even - but no rules in this one.

I do however, trust that you will not take it as good reason to break our unwritten honouring of Turn Order which we have so far managed without problems. I shall continue to take it that it runs Sumeria ==> Babylon ==> Sumeria unless D/M's start to be committed on me.

It will become very messy if all 3 of us wait until 30 minutes from the end and then stay logged in to block the others from joining until the second move is completed on the following turn. I can see people missing turns altogether if this sort of silliness breaks out.

Regardless of 'Rules' I really would suggest a 'gentleman's' agreement to behave like adults. Harsh words will be exchanged if we do not.

    • Well I keep open the possibility I might have misunderstood - be nice to hear from Mr Viking - indeed the complete lack of any diplo is a bit of a shame too - we have been at peace for 5000 years, and suddenly with no explanation there is a double move declaration of war.

Maybe this is no longer a diplo game, but a standard MP - not really my scene but I've started so I will finish.

Sumaria - we both know each other. In game we might both be colourful, but OCC I think we both trust each other to be fair and reasonable.

So, with double-moving in, watch a large babylonian city fall next turn!

      • Wierd and wierder still. A large army of mine has appeared back in a city when last time I looked I was two tiles into Celtic territory. We were already at war so it can't be to do with a closing of borders, and nobody has vassalated to anyone. Completely baffled here - and frustrated! Two turns of lost movement is a big thing in a war. Mr Viking - have you pulled a clever one using a game technique I haven't seen before? Never seen anything like it.

        • playyourturn says:

          B = babylon
          V = Vikings

          23 23:54 1470
          B 24 08:32
          V missed
          24 12:52 1475
          V 24 20:05
          B 25 00:42
          25 01:35 1480
          B 25 01:52
          R 25 04:20
          25 14:09 1485
          V 25 15:03
          B 25 16:23

          1470: Vikings mist
          1475: Vikings first
          1480: Babs first
          1485: Vikings first

if I understand Babs right the Vikings declared war in 1485. Then that's indeed out of turn-order.
We have honorable rules. Vikings pm's me (lost DoD password, that's why) and they thought they followed turn order.
So I think that it is at worst a mistake.

I gave Vikings a new pass, so please find a solution.
I'm neither the leader of this game (deity is) nor do I think that we have official rules, so I'm not going to pause or reload, unless deity says so.

I'd say: continue with Babylon first next turn to make things even. But that's my opinion.

You were at war with the Celts already?
I was not aware of that....

            • That is very odd as as Vassalage is also barred so no kind of enforced peace can have been the cause.

There have been odd things happening throughout this game to me - vanishing workers and damaged units when no enemy exists to hurt them. I have even lost a Spearman when I have never had one in combat?

C'est la guerre, at least there is now a chance to clip your wings and save the poor Celts from tyranny.

Double moves are NOT illegal in this game and we don't reload.

It is against the SPIRIT of the game so IC you take this into account when dealing with that civ.

If it's a mistake, well that's life... and if I'd d/m'd by mistake I'd let the other side have two in a row.

btw, we do have official rules and all game info is in my first post of this thread.

                  • Anyway, you cannot just butcher the poor sad weak Celts, take their capital and Holy city yet not expect a reaction from the Civ destined to be the next dish on your menu. You certainly cannot attempt to terrorise me with tales of naval might wreaking havoc upon my coastal cities when you do not even bother to place garrisons in your own. Not everyone lives in terror of you.

                    • All babylon said was that there was a double move.
He's not complaining about being attacked.

                        • Come on Sumaria, don't try to turn this into a in-game argument about whether babylon is nice or not.
That is not the point and you know it. Shame on you for trying to twist and confuse and ooc issue into in game 'diplomacy' (if that is the right words for comments :-)

Its a shame there is no response to this from Mr Viking.

And you are right diety of course that there aren't rules against this, but no diplo, double move declaration of war, and silence in response to questions about this, do take much of the 'spirit' out of things for me.

                          • Woah!

It's been less than 24 hours! It was my B-day and I went out with friends so I didn't respond asap, also my DoD account was inactive so I asked RP to restart it. Babylon it's just a game, take a breathe buddy, go for a walk maybe?

This is my second diplo game ever and I sincerely apologize if I did something wrong, it was not my intention to break any unwritten rules but please forgive my inexperience. I'll do whatever to make it up, I don't want to do something that is frowned upon.

What I did was declare war and move my units into your land, I don't know why that's wrong? I understand you can't then go and take a second turn before your opponent, which I did not do, so what's the beef?

I see that you have now moved so I have taken my second turn. Question though, I cannot always play all my turns, so does this mean that you will not take your turn if I miss a turn? This must have already happened as I haven't had the chance to play the last couple turns.

                            • If such a situation occurs, it's best that nobody comments. All these posts back and forth serve nothing but bad vibes about each other.

@Vikings: according to the log on playyourgame.com you did a double move. Apparently it was a mistake, I hope that things can be corrected again by letting Babylon go first again. I assume you are ok with that.

And if in war involved players can't play every turn we can extend the turn timer again to 24 hours, I assume.
