  • I am certain of 2 and reckon on 1 more.

Makes it all much more of a mystery and the 'not knowing' who you can bully, butcher, trust or feel very scared of does make this great fun.

          • It is best to not post at all if people are looking for clues - best to focus on the role, not who you think players are.

I think this game is the most realistic ever because of anonymity and no posting.

            • Realistic maybe, but deadly boring, and with no real ability to organise diplomacy the leaders will not be contained.

              • Super easy to organize diplomacy through Play Your Turn. Have had no issues sending messages to players

                • you are right of course, and i'm in no position to complain, but in normal diplo i doubt we would be seeing the massive lead this early.

                  • I've seen massive leads before, but his one is indeed more massive then any other.

Yeah, I agree. PYT is just fine and much messaging is going on there.

I think for those who got much enjoyment from the global postings are definitely missing out in this game.

But if you get into the realism of not knowing what's happening away from your nations sphere of activities then it is definitely more realistic in this game. And the plotting and planning is just the same except you can't make mischievous in character posts to fool the opposition (which I do miss I guess).

I am not finding it boring and diplomacy is very possible. It really is not a 'Diplo-Game' but more a friendly 'free for all' with anon. If you treat it as such things become much clearer.

I agree that without diplomacy the leaders cannot be contained but we can still talk 'In Game', PYT or via PM's. Any smaller Civ who chooses not to talk will die come 1000AD so isolationism is a huge error.

                          • Appreciate all the sensible comments, and yes the main point is that it is different from a diplo game for good and ill, but ... RP's figures are the point. Don't deceive yourselves into thinking that those leaders are suddenly going to be out-stripped by your clever building programme. Without decisive action very soon you are all doomed. Is the diplomacy possible to make that work - well the proof of the pudding will be in the eating.

                            • Yes all attack me please. My walls and +25% wonder city defense and great wall will deliver the great generals I need. And praetorians need action. They are bored.

                              Kidding only
My lead is wonder based. I made much wonders. The lead will dimise. It is only bit luck.
Egypt is dangerous! All have they is cottage floodplains. Their science and commerce is 50% more then Rome!
Rome is peace and friendly. Do not fear Rome.

Im sorry if i am not supposed to have such lead in this game. I do not know rules. I can give cities away if i must. I am sorry. Please: Egypt dangerous!

                              • @Rome: blablabla, just attack Egypt, then we talk.

@The Priest: if you take look at the stats, it's not so much that the big nations run away, compared to DoC, the other civs fall behind. Of course, Rome has 40 points more then MzProx had in DoC, England (DoC) had as much points as Egypt has now. The civs on the #3rd place, and all civs that come after it, have significantly less points then those civs had in DoC. Perhaps we were tech trading back then though.
