      Russia responds to Korean ultimatum.

Korea, do you have a pact of defence with the Greek? Korea, do you have an alliance with the Greek? Korea, do you even know where Greece is? Why don't you stay in your own lands where you belong and let the glory of war bring honor to those who fight it. If you desire a war, perhaps you should fight someone your own size? Near your own lands.

Allow Russia to make clear, that our sphere of influence is growing. As such we will not accept foreign faraway powers to interfere in them. Korean ships within 10 clicks of Russian territory will be seen as hostile warships and responded to in kind.

      A warning.

Ramesses II sat in a large lounge chair, in his beach palace in Friendship City, overlooking the waves, listening to the gulls, and smoking a pipe filled with sacred blue lily. One of his trusted advisors approached him.

"My lord, we have some reports for you."

"Yes, the reports. I understand trouble is brewing in many places."

"Yes great Pharaoh. As the situation is now, Arabia and Greece are at war, and so are the Russians and the Ottomans. The latter conflict might stop soon, as the Persians have interfered and demanded both sides to stop fighting."

"Interesting. Very un-Persian-like. Let me know if there are any more developments there. What about the conflict between Arabia and Greece?"

"We have no idea what was the cause for this conflict. We are trying to contact our representatives there to get a clearer picture of the situation, but due to the volatile circumstances, communication is proving difficult."

"What about our own lands, any noteworthy developments?"

"Well, many of our people have heard about the rumors of war abroad, and anti-war protests have been taking place throughout the country. A new kind of people, who have travelled to India and call themselves enlightened, are forming groups. They call themselves Hippehs, and they dress colourful and promote peace and something they call 'free love'."

"Amazing, who did they talk to in India?"

"It seems they are a splinter group, inspired by new priests of India's Shao'Tur teachings. They constantly smoke sacred blue lily and they like to sit in circles and play the drum. They are planning on traveling to the Ottoman Empire and to Greece to spread their ideas."

"Remarkable. I want to meet a few of these 'Hippehs'. Do they have a leader?"

"Well, yes, there is a man they listen to, called Timoteh Leareh. He is leaving tomorrow to lead the group who will travel to Greece, I will send him here tonight."

"Excellent. Make sure we have enough blue lily here, and I will listen to him talk while enjoying a puff or two. After all, this man will most likely die for peace, as I doubt whether the Greeks or the Arabs will listen to him. Make sure that he receives supplies for his trip. Any man fighting for peace is a friend of Egypt."

The economy in Mali flourishes so much that5 it was necessary to build vaults to store the gold. Then the financial advisors had a grand idea.

"Let us allow the citizens to borrow the money and charge them money for borrowing it, thus making more money." This was an insane idea. Why would anyone borrow money only to be required to pay more money in return? As a trial, a bank was built in the capital to see what would happen. Immediately the coffers began to fill again. This extra money was given to the needy parts of the country to raise the quality of living and allow more people jobs in the research institutions.

Fyodor Karamazov, recently having celebrated his 100th birthday stared at the Moscow Gazette and looked over at his younger brother Dmitrij, a mere 98 years old.

Dearest brother Dmitrij, will this war not end soon? You told me it would be over by now!

-It should be, the Ottoman armies are defeated, we have reached our goals and inter-nationalismic pressure is building to force a cease fire. Prince Igor has even ordered all our troops to stop our glorious path of conquest until further notice. Yet, Russia is doing well, why are you so concerned?

Dmitrij, don't you read the papers? The Mali have begun establishing Banking establishments! I have dreamed, all my life as a merchant to be able to establish such establishments. Russia would be able to become rich from such an... establishment. I have requested many times that Prince Igor start... establishing Banks, but he says the war effort takes all resources!

-Your age is affecting your vocabulis dear brother, I will tell you brother Fyodor, if the Ottoman do not sign the cease fire now, they will sign a full surrenderation within 5-10 years. Our dear Prince Igor is nothing short of a military genius. And if you so desperatively desire more gold, why do you not just borrow directly from this Mali Bank?

You fail to see the point, Dmitrij, but borrowing money from the Mali? Perhaps not a foolishly established idea after all...

              Baron Ozious,

Pull out of Greece now or Britannia will invade Arabia starting with your capital. You have three turns to decide.

Yes we ahve agrements with Greece, any attack on Grek soil is an attack on korea,

Theenglish and myself will do what we need to stop the agressive arabs.

If you hinder our peaceful mission of stopping the arabs you will be making a bad choice.

We are not the agreesors in this war. we warned the arabs leader long time ago that an attack on greece would activate an old alliance.

                  Menander writes...

It is foretold that in the year AD 1395 Greece would be invaded by its friends and Islamic allies, the Arabs. The MAD Arabs.

Greece had been asleep and kingless for far too long and far too trusting of its allies in the faith. The great persons who administered Greece in this time had much to answer for in the area of military.

Three mighty Arab armies lie next to three Greek cities. All three would fall in the year 1400 AD, no doubt.

The diplomatic strength of Greece, however would rise to the fore, and support from the Britannians and Koreans was forthcoming. Relations with these two nations had slumbered for years, in fact eons, but new ties were being forged.

It is England that holds the key. Fortunately, as soon as Rip van Greekle awoke strong ties were established with England and deals were being made well before any threat to Greece was apparent. England, although the victim of previous Greek atrocities, could see what was right and they would make 'corrections': Arabia best seek for the diplomacy of the pen and heed the words of Kane lest it utterly destroys itself....

The response from Rome was a little disheartening, seeming to jump at the chance to squash the MAD pact, rather than revitalising it; although pressure to commence talks was welcome. UPDATE: A new comminication has just arrived from Rome as Menander writes and a strong sense of support from Rome is appreciated. TALKS MUST BEGIN BEFORE THREE CITIES FALL.

And it is odd that Russia, who gifted gold of 50 coins only a few years ago, was threatening Korea over its support of Greece. An explanation is warranted.

                  Menander continued to write....

An Open Letter to All Nations

Does the world care nothing for the assault on our envoys? Arabia sought nothing more than to strengthen the relations with our neighbors on this continent. We were outraged to hear that our people were so horribly treated by the Greeks. We cannot stand by and allow this to occur!

Korea, India, England, Persia, and any other nation would behave no differently in the face of such an atrocity.

Arabia is a small nation. We send our macemen into battle against longbows and are threatened with grenadiers, cannon and riflemen! What do the great, powerful and advanced nations of the world care about a small skirmish between two unimportant and inconsequential powers?

Russia and the Ottomans have been at war for decades, yet most of the world remains silent. Why intervene against Arabia? Greece is a Muslim country, they share no common culture or faith with any nation currently speaking up. Greece, a nation in near anarchy for centuries, a nation that assaults peaceful visitors, a nation that attempts to steal land from all her neighbors through culture, a nation that has sought fit to neglect its people, its military, and its land, has made its bed.

Arabia defends its right to make war. As India has made war, as Russia has made war, as Persia has made war. The intervention of other nations into our affairs can only be intrepreted as an attempt by the strong to dominate the weak. We will not tolerate strong nations using this opportunity to invade Arabia and profit from our situation.

For years Justinian had been engrossed in the building of the greatest university known to the world in Constantinople - once again it would become the centre of the world. Finally, though, the university was finished.

Immediately Justinian turned his attention to the wider world.

                      To Igor of Russia,

I recognise the truth in your proclamation that despite your war, you remain smaller than the Ottomans. While Byzantium is a peace-loving nation which has only ever fought in its own defence, we recognise the right of conquest in the law of nations.
                      To Selim of the Ottoman

My friend. Your anger burns strong. We understand; we too have lost cities. But look to the good of your people. Your remain a strong and powerful nation. It is not in the Ottoman people's interest for you to declare an endless war of destruction. Find peace and a new future for your people. No responsible leader allows his anger to condemn his people to endless war.

                      Great Guru of Persia

We recognise your efforts to encourage the Russians and Ottomans to find peace. However we must remind you that both of our nations declared that we would stay out of this war. It would tragic if the closing days of the Russian-Ottoman war were to ignite a world war.
                      Baron Ozious of Arabia

We are horrified that you used our hospitality to attack our neighours the Greeks. We feel violated. Nevertheless, your war is not our war. And the war between two small countries is not a war for major powers to involve themslves in. But let me be clear - we do take an interest in our immeidately borders and will be watching events just over our border with great concern.
                      Alfred Deakin of Korea

We praise your love for peace. But do not think to involve yourself in the war between two small nations far from you. Major powers involving themselves in the wars of the small inevitably plunge the world into massive war.

Arabia Pledges Immediate Cessation of Hostilities, Offers Peace Treaty

We do not intend to cripple the Greeks nor, like other nations of the world, do we pledge perpetual warfare. Because of our kindness and generosity we offer a peace treaty to the Greeks. Continued warfare serves no one.

                          Therefore we pledge the following:

                          - An immediate cease fire
                          - Peace
                          - Arabia will return all slaves taken during the war
                          - 250 gold in reparations
                          - A pledge of 30 turns of guaranteed peace

One of the Native Americans galleons on its way home happened to be in the vicinity of the city of Edirne, and is witness to the fact that it is now occupied by Russian units. There also seems signs of revolt, but the captain reckons Russian military units stationed just outside of the city should be able to deal with such matters.

Lord Selim, your armies are defeated, your lands lost and secured by Russian troops. We have just landed troops on Africa and are ready to begin a campaign against your southern colonies, your colony Edirne will fall when our troops next are given orders. We demand that you surrender and acknowledge the supremacy of Russia over all lands we have conquered.

If this will not happen we will demand war reparations for every turn you continue to force us to bring destruction upon you. We are willing now to sign a cease fire awarding us the land we so bravely conquered. If you reject this treaty we will repeat it next turn, but then also demand additional concessions, colonies, military equipment and gold.

Take our offer. Other nations also wish this conflict to end and by needlessly extending it, you are causing further suffering to your people and causing destabilization of nearby lands.

good friend dear to our hearts. Your words are always clear and concise, but this war is not a just war of one small nation versus another . It is led by the former ruler of Rome who has now moved to Arabia using much knowledge he aquired whilst leading rome to use agaisnt greece. We did hear of his plans and did warn the baron that any attack on Greece would mean greeces allies would intervene

Whislt the rest of the world let Greece flounder, England and korea have been buildinfg ties with greece, making deals for settlers to expand into new lands and ensuring greece survived as a ntion.

Now as a new leader assumes power in greece baron ozzy does attack in sheer greed.

We coulds not allow this to happen. We took the actions we deemed necessary.

We hope you undersntad our dear friend
