  • Metacom was down by the shore looking out to sea, he smoked on a big rolled leaf tobacco confection, called he believed, a sikar. It was less formal than the peace pipe ritual and more fun.

The Natives fortunes had improved in recent times. They had learned new forge techniques that lead to the production of steel and they had built some of these new bank things. His wise men had been to overseas ‘science’ fairs to examine new weapon production and had met with Mr Winchester.

Then, though they had heard talk of this black ore, they were surprised to discover some of this material on their land. Metacom ordered a mining operation to start immediately
I have seen that in any great undertaking it is not enough for a man to depend simply upon himself.

    • Then Squaw 'Blue Corn Maiden' jumped up and down excitedly beside Metacom. She had spotted the return of the 'Lone Wolf' work boat that had set out to explore the world all those many moons ago.

There was much feasting and rejoicing. These were the descendants of the first 'Lone Wolf', who had set sail, but they felt at home. Metacom called for the peace pipe.

      • The high priestess arrived in Rome and was greeted by the Roman leaders. As the first Korean to ever step foot on roman soil as she walked down the streets and wved to the gathered crowds it was obvious that Koreans were not what the romans thought.

        • Turmoil continued in Byzantium.

To begin with people didn't notice the issue. Byzantium being a well-run empire with much delegated to advisors and the representative council of the people, and peace reigning after the recent arab-greece war. But gradually the people noticed, there was no word from Justinian. Nothing but silence from the Imperial Palace. Gradually the clamour for explanation grew. Finally the council of the people felt it had to act, for the continued safety of Byzantium in this dangerous world.

The council acted - a move destined to change Byzantine power and democracy for many centuries - the council acted to appoint a regent - Ozious the well known international diplomat (chosen by the council because he did not represent any of the competing interests within Byzantium). The council appointing the ruler of Byzantium - never had this been heard of in all of history. Finally, when Ozious approached the imperial palace, armed with the resolution of the council, flanked by the chief representatives of the people and the chief of the army, did the palace steward admit teh truth - Justinian had gone mad. The steward had imprisioned him in the tower for his own safety, hoping that the madness woudl pass. But no ...

Ozious took the reigns of power and the council debated how to replace Justinian.

          • Slaves refuse to work in Russia

In an astounding display of power and unity, Russian slaves took en masse to the streets throughout the nation, blocking traffic and commerce, making demands for increased rights. A list of grievances and usurpations was given to the Royal Palace in Moscow. Sources at the palace say that Prince Igor has decided to give in to the demands as they are reasonable in this era, but that the source for this discontent was of great concern. Sources in the military intelligence department state that they are certain that the slaves were organized and funded by a neighbouring power.

A status of work-divided society has been implemented, reminiscent of other nations Caste Societies. As a bonus, the slaves have become increasingly productive in workshops throughout Russia and local governments are considering establishing more.

            • The Roman Citizenry cheered as the Korean High Priestess passed the crowds on the way to the Senate Building, where she was scheduled to meet the Senate in a state dinner. Her spectacular personal style was discussed amongst the people for months and she became an icon for little Roman girls everywhere.

                • Ottoman Ruler makes demands upon Russia

The Ottoman ruler, Caliph Mustafa III recently made demands upon Russian territory requiring the destruction of a Russian city. Prince Igor flatly refused the requirement and stated that the armed forces would have to stay on full preparation to respond to possible hostile invasion. Sightings of Ottoman cannons near Igorograd caused concern, but the newly improved Grenadier squadron stationed in the city has helped ease tensions of the citizens.

Prince Igor furthermore made a public statement announcing that no hostile act against Ottoman would be taken unless Ottoman forces invaded Russia. "Peace and development should be the defining characteristic of this era", he said to a Gazette interviewer. "I have ordered the construction of several universities and hope to be able to boost scientific research throughout Russia Major" he continued.

We can only hope that the new ruler in Ottomania is not foolish enough to challenge the glorious armies of Russia.

                  • Russian offer to developing nations

Russian military staff have made a science out of soldiering. This Military Science will be made available through advisors who will be available to nations that can provide Russia with either new lands or significant production.

If a nation should choose to, it can pay the voucher cost and build Grenadiers for Russia. Or it can pay Russia with technology or lands of value.
