Tomorrow, folks, tomorrow. I'm beat after this week. As it is, I'm lucky to be home; the snow has cancelled our soccer team's scrimmage tonight.

Let me do this: I'll try to get a pitboss game of RFC up on the server tonight by 10 pm EST, and anyone who wants to play around with it can do so.

Ok, that wasn't working, and it appears to be at my end. I'll try resetting the cable modem, and making sure everything is working properly at my end, then put up a 3.19 BtS game to experiment with tomorrow. If that works, we can go back to fiddling with the RFC mod. If not, that means I won't be able to host.

I just set up a pitboss game loading RFC MP and it looks like you can only have 4 humans. The rest are greyed out as "computer". I'm I reading this correctly?

If you've played it, then you know that civs enter the game dynamically. So when it starts, at 3,000 BC, only Babylon, Egypt, India and China are available. Later Greece, Persia, Rome, ..., Netherlands, Turkey, America all spawn. The trick is having someone new login at that point and claim the AI when the new civs spawn.

Ok, as I said I would, I have a 3.19 BtS game up at the previously reported IP address. It's working; all the civs are AI and any can be taken over by anyone, so y'all can log in and out and see what happens to your heart's content. I've got to go be a real person for a little, so I can't help test until later today.

If the BtS game works fine, then we will set up a RFC game tonight and see if that works ok. By the end of tonight, if we have enough testing in, we should know if RFC will work or not.

Ah, OK, thx. I was just worried that the RFC notes say that MP version is for 4 human players - will be interesting to see if a fifth successfully joins even as pitboss.

Yea, who knows. I'm starting to think that it isn't going to work out. But the good news (I suppose) is that the problems we had last night were caused by his server, not RFC.

I'm starting to worry too about any mods really working with Pitboss. Someone said that any mod where the .dll is changed won't work. I'm not sure what all that includes, but probably most of the good ones.

I'm thinking if we don't get RFC to work we just play a game on a real world map.

What do people think about that? And if so, a world map or a Europe map? My preference, actually, is for Europe.

I would like to participate in your game. The idea sounds really interesting. I've already run and played a number of pitboss-games with my friends. So far only plain bts.

When would you like to start? What turntimer? What still to do / to decide?

Well, unfortunately for you, we've already filled up this game. Just waiting to get things together to start. We did just have someone drop out, but we've got two people waiting for that slot. I'll put you next in line, but it is likely at least one of those folks will take the spot.

Definitely keep your eye on this forum though, there are always more opportunities to get into a game. Welcome!
