  • I'm sorry, but DoC takes already too much of my time, I can't really start an other diplogame untill it finishes.. and maybe I will take a break after that. I may be avaible as a temporary sub/(advisor if you are going to dfo it in succession style) though.

    • I was hoping to play Byzantines

What if we put Russia bit south of St. Petersburg and put Mongols in modern Ukraine? That should balance them as longs as Vikings aren't a prob.

Also I dislike shrinking Enlgand, what if we replace England with the Celts who aren't financial?

      • Well now I think we need to replace the 8th player or we'll have even more empty space than before.

Are people not interested in adding eastern/modded civs then? Hera & Lz's suggestions involve using existing BTS civs, but just moving them around.

            • No Byzantines. If we were going for a classical world, Mediterranean based game, then sure. I'd actually be interested in doing that game at some point (Rome, Greece, Byzantium, Persia, Egypt, Carthage, Babylon, Celts?, Sumeria, Israel, could be fun). But not now.

              • Ok, I put up a test game. IP: 192.168.11.5 no password. A very quick 1 hour timer, just to make sure the turn advances properly. I'll leave it up the next day or two. Feel free to pop in, play a civ or two, and leave. See if we can avoid OOS and things move smoothly.

ozzy, that is an internal ip address - NOT your proper external IP.

Aren't we doing a Europe game? Byzantines lasted till 1453 so I think they qualify as a medieval civ... What about putting the Ottomans in the Bosporus and using the Greeks then?

Also will we have Arabs (I'd be interested in them too) in or not considering we dropped the Carthaginians?

Also since we aren't playing Rhye's and fall is anyone up for the NextWar mod? It plays just like regular civ except having a way more awesome modern age.

                      • Hmmm, that first one I gave worked fine for me from my other computer (same network though, so maybe that's it). I went to whatsmyip.com and it told me: 98.231.218.249.

I tried that from my desktop and it didn't work.

                        Any ideas?

                        • ozzy, I will be playing in the new big diplo that Cyber starts after DoC; plus he will be hosting the non posting "deity rules diplo game" - quite a few want a break from posting.

I'll still play in New Horizons provided it is not succession but will not post a lot. I'd rather be a backup.

                          • Well I guess this game is dead then. Everyone is jumping ship and I left my computer on all weekend to try and test out hosting but no one seems no one tried to test.

Oh well. I guess the only diplos that will ever happen are ones that CS hosts and organizes. *shrug*

                            • Perhaps this one wasnt what everyone wanted.

Seems that Diplo with lots of posting is not everyones cup of tea.

The Deity version (realy just a PITBOSS) seems to have taken most people, not because Robert Hosting it i doubt, but i think because it is jsut a regular PITBOSS game with some minor rules changes.

                              • So deity, CS, and mzprox have all dropped out. Toni and The Priest are interested in joining.

                                mzprox/_______?

I suppose if we really wanted to we could start with just 7, but that would present even more spacing problems. Since DoC is finishing soon perhaps we could convince mzprox to stay in. Then again, since this game is built around swapping civs, it wouldn't hurt us to have an AI or two. Perhaps as time goes on people will want to join and fill those extra spots. Until then though people will be moving around, so every civ will have its time as an AI.

The biggest question though, if we hope to save this game, is who will host? I'd like to try, but I don't know what I'm doing and I need help.
