Just d/l the mp version of Rhye's and looked at the ReadMe. Since I assume we are doing PitBoss we just need to keep an eye on civstats to avoid too many logging in at once.

All the same I'm wary of this...

    ---

    OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES

    • Maximum 4 players. Unfortunately it has been proved that while the mod is perfectly
playable in 2 and possibly in 3, it’s not always in 4 (just one slow connection may screw
up the game), and in 5 or more it’s completely unplayable due to lag and to frequent
    OOS.

    • Despite all the fixes, Out Of Synch (OOS) errors may still appear. In case it happens,
the best solution is to quit, reload the game and all reconnect. In case of a single player
showing different sync numbers from the rest, it’ll be enough if only him reconnects.
It has been reported that random events (which can be turned off on game setup) and the plague are possible causes, but while they rarely occur in 2 players, they will be more
frequent as the number of players grows. You are warned!

Also Ozzy, it might be worth keep a few signed up subs like Toni and/or me.

Ok, everyone has voted! Thanks guys! That was actually pretty quick!

Vote results are below. But to sum it up, we are playing a succession game on a real world map. We will play anonymously and will use the DoC ruleset.

We voted against Colonization and voted in favor of Rhye's and Fall of Civilization and in favor of another mod. However there were more votes for RFC than "other mod" so it looks like we are playing Rhye's and Fall of Civilization!

No elimination, no fantasy (wouldn't fit with RFC) and no relationship monitor.

    Great!

Now we need to figure out who starts with which civ (and make sure everyone is familar with RFC and the historical introduction of civs into different time periods). We need to also be sure RFC works in Pitboss. If it doesn't work for any reason then we also approved the idea of doing another mod (though not Colonization) so we'll just need to decide which one.

Assuming RFC works it may be worthwhile to jump start the game early on and get four people to play live with Egypt, Babylon, India and China to start the game off. Then switch over to Pitboss once new civs start to spawn.

We also need to figure out:
    - The voting system (Lz's plan sounded good for me)
    - How succession will work
    - Who will host the game

    Spoiler:

    10. Should we use the rule-set from Dance of Civilizations?

Abstain - It depends on what you mean by the full rule set. If just the 'In Game' rules then fine but the scoring/voting system would have to be adapted for such a different type of game.
Yea, that was my intention with the vote. Just the in game rules regarding double moves, etc.

My sister is available though. I'll ask her if she's interested in a youth right activist who lives in a box.
Are we back in middle-ages Europe?

If she's beautiful enough I'll give you fifty acres of the finest pasture for her as a deposit and double that if she should prove fruitful and bear me fine sons!

Just got confirmation that she'll marry on July 1st.
    I'm sorry dude.
My sister is available though. I'll ask her if she's interested in a youth right activist who lives in a box.

But I'll talk you through the process, (it's not difficult).
And if you buy a real telephone, you can easily manage the game from a distance

An alternative is to share the VNC password with other players so that they can login to the computer and manage it from a distance.

But the larger the games get the harder they are to manage.

That's only a hypothese of you.
I don't share it with you.
I'd even say that larger games are easier to manage because people will feel more responsible b/c it's a bigger thing.

I can *try*. I have a spare desktop here at the office that I could bring home and try to set up. I can't use my home desktop since it is on wireless and the connection is very unstable. I'd have to set up this other desktop (and old desktop) in my living room. I'm rather unsure of it, but if CS walks me through, it is possible I could get it to work.

Ideally someone else who has done it before or who has a better set up, could do it.

I also don't have a wife sitting at home who can reset the server while I'm out and about. CS, not too late to send me your sister-in-law.

I think we need to clear up who will be the host for this game. I don't want disscusion going to far without concrete steps to indicate this game is happening... we need someone to volunteer as a host now.

As I am currently in DoC (as a sub, but semi-permanent) I would not be up for a third game.

Plus it may be difficult enough to find a host for this game, let alone two new ones.
