As the Ottoman have so clearly shown, they are hellbent on nothing but death and destruction. Russia is fighting a limited conflict, we have already reached our goals and are prepared to discuss terms. We have been willing to do this since the beginning. Yet the Ottoman are rambling in madness. It can only be clear that they have hated us and been hell-bent on our destruction since the beginning. If this war carries on it will undoubtedly escalate greatly. Russia does not wish a destabilization of the entire region, but it seems that Ottoman does. As such, we will continue to defend our lands, for though we have only minor landings on Ottoman territory, they have large armies in our lands, and already they are murdering and pillaging the countryside of Novgorod and Sevastopol. We will defeat the invaders, perhaps then the Ottoman will finally see reason.

We have no fear however, Russia prevails.

Korea was becoming more paranoid as time passed.


Based on its decree to the world earlier thst all shipping wishing to traverse korena waters needed official passage, the koreans discoverd an ottoman boat in its waters tht had not asked for passage.

Accordingly it was escorted out of korean waters.

The captain was asked his purpose and refused t oanswer.

Korea has sent a letter to persia querying why they cancleed al ldeals with korea. We feel it is worth 300 gold for cancellation of these deals.

It was these cancleations that led to the paranoia starting

Justinian looked round the room at the select few advisors who knew the truth about Byzantine foreign and military policy.

As they talked softly words laden with meaning floated past his ears "... opetation holy strike ... decapitation strategy ... eastern underbelly ..."

Momentarily though his thoughts were drawn to the north, the news emerging of the escalating Russian-Ottoman conflict, then he tapped lightly on the table to call the meeting to order.

"Gentlemen, to business, updates please"

One by one the men spoke,

The chief science advisor outlining the recent progress, the standardisation of production and machinery such that craftsmen no longer needed to produce each item uniquely, but rather machines produce 'parts' which can be assembled later, and if something breaks, just that part needs replacing.

... discussion followed, the military pushing the industrialist for when this technology could be applied to weaponry and other military equipment, so it could simply roll off the machine lines and be assembled? The industrialists shook their heads, refusing to commit to timescales.

The diplomat outlined the current state of the ICS (india containment strategy). Going through the ten nations currently actively following through on anti-India strategies. Outlining the cell structure, such that there were four different groups of nations each not knowing the detaills of the others, though perhaps guessing at the existance of more. Going through the two military alliances, the containment approaches, the secret commitments to abandon apparent friendships when the time was right.

... discussion followed again. Justinian pressing the diplomat on the nature of the commitments, the military intrlligence agent confirming the basic veracity of the troop build up in allied nations. Argument over the likely impact of the Russian-Turkish war, the Inca-Egyptian war and the current instability in Korea.


The intelligence agent explaining the reduction in Indian espionage activity against Byzantium and sharing with his colleagues the latest reports of rioting breaking out against the Vampire Queen within her own heartland cities.



... again much discussion. Some suggesting that India's eyes were now turned eastwards to defending its island territories against the Persians. The military urging that no let up in military build up, not trusting this Indian tactic.

The speaker of the representatives discussing the success of the new constitution, the tensions in the west with Greek expansion particlarly near Antioch, the development of the Islands particularly the new regional parliment, the southern lands ...

You gave no wanrings of the trade canelation , this led to the increased tensions so when rumours of ships with army avourd hit our shores we were forced t oclose borders

if trade is reopend then i am sure we cna return to normal status

General Roberts walked out of the hall, he had been invited to attend by the Korea high command to learn new ways of militasry engagement.

The Byzantines were very efficianet and apart from secret locations of trroops were very informative.

He sent meesage hometo iprove the korean army and then reenterd the hall to speak to the Byzantine of other things

Rip van Greekle awoke after a thousand year sleep….

The English oppressors of yesteryear were now benefactors.
Rip sent them a diplomatic message requesting further colonial assistance.
It would reflect well on England if Greece can rise from the sleep and play a serious role in this world.

Greece spontaneously erupted into a Golden Age at the news of Rip's awakening!!!

After inspecting the building progress in all his cities, now with Golden Age production, Rip called for a revolution!!!
Bureaucracy was installed along with serfdom and free religion.
No longer will Greece be in the technological backwaters.
Islam remains the strong choice of most of the population but all religions are now welcome!!!
Science is the aim….

For eons Greece had toiled hard without leadership but brilliant advances were made in this time and from a small population many great citizens were enunciating great ideas and strategies for Greece to advance….

Let it be known to those nations who have asked that our great citizens are Greek and are ours to develop Greece!!!
So, please do not threaten Greece.
And let our cultural tensions be negotiated on a case by case basis.
One idea that occurred to Rip was that a deal might be negotiated with Rome to trade a mainland Roman city of Transterminus with our colony with a sweetener thrown in…

England is one nation that has helped Greece and this is sincerely appreciated; but more help is needed.
Rip is on his way to seek an audience with The Hulk to secure Greece's future.
Rumblings in neighbouring lands needed to be quelled and new alliances forged for the betterment of all!!!

After visiting England Rip is hoping to visit Rome to flesh out new deals as mentioned....

Rip thanks India for her recent trade deals.
