Nations of the World!

I'm Shakti, Empress of India, spiritual leader of all true Taoists.

The world became a darker place, we can all see that. It's time to put aside our differences and build a better future together. Our wish is peace, to bring God's paradise to Earth. It's still not late for the sinful to repent their sins and join us. Sha'tur is a mercifull God, forgiveness is given to those who open their heart to the true ways of Sha'Tao.

To Byzantium for defying our missionaries,

To England for being unhonorable by breaking our hundreds years old treaty and spying on us,

To Persia who dares threatening our Taoist brothers,

To Korea for building pirate ships,

And to varoius nations for their insults and conspiracy against India, for acts against God's laws,

...Forgiveness is given if you are ready to repent. But do not hesitate too long, we can't just stand by forever and see how Evil devours our world.

Empress Shakti, High priestess of Sha'Tao,

We the Byzantine people recognise you as the new ruler of India.

We hear you wish for peace. We welcome this. The war that Shivali launched unprovoked against Byzantium, breaking our treaties of friendship, still lingers on between us. We trust you will follow through on your declared wish for peace by agreeing peace between us. I will dispatch officials to sign the documents immediately.

We were suprised to hear that Byzantium is accused of defying Tao missionaries. You are clearly mistaken. Byzantium has always in words and actions welcomed Tao missionaries. The only danger to Tao'ism in Byzantine territory has been the destruction of the Tao'ist temple in Adrianopole by Queen Shivali's forces.

Byzantium destroys all foreign troops who come bringing war to its land, but we welcome missionaries.

We look forward to your desire for peace bearing fruit in a signed treaty, and India rejoining the familiy of nations of the world.

Justinian.

The Charge of the Red Siege Engine Brigade

Lieutenant Lev Uljanovitsj Lazlov stared at his orders in disbelief. As commander of the 2nd Field Engine catapult crew he had not received the new cannons that he knew many other War Engine commanders had gotten. His orders were instead to assault the Ottoman southern army. Alone. From the relative safety of a nearby hill his crew were to take position, and begin bombarding the Ottoman army. Numerous janissaries formed the front line of that army. Lieutenant Lazlov knew that the chances of survival for his squadron was next to nothing. Re-reading the order he rose from his chair, straightened his uniform and exited the field tent. Quickly he ordered his men to move out and set up position.

Three days later the catapult crew had set up positions on the hills, ready to begin the deadly bombardment. The ancient catapults would be no match for Ottoman flintlocke rifles in the hand of the sharpshooting Janissaries. Yet the crew was well trained, their ability to concentrate massed barrage had been improved steadily over the last years.

Drawing a deep breath, Lieutenant Lazlov thought that if he would not fire the Ottoman would not discover his position, would not fire, none of his crew would die. Steeling himself he waited a few seconds until the Ottoman army was in the perfect position, then waved the flag and his war engine crew let fly their payloads.

Creaking lowly the loads lifted slowly at first, then gaining momentum and were launched into the air. The marching army below had not noticed. Suddenly voices cried out. The catapults may be old, but their ammunition was not. The rain of explosive shells struck down in the middle of the Ottoman army blasting hundreds to death and thousands were wounded. The first Ottoman Janissary quickly began to reform to set up firing squads. Lieutenant Lazlov immediately ordered a reloading, dismissing his second in command's suggestion to retreat while they were still unharmed. The deadly hail struck down again, the firing teams that had begun to form and return fire were hit hardest. As more and more of the Janissaries began to take cover and form firing teams, Lazlov ordered yet another barrage. This time the rear of the army, consisting of crossbowmen and maces were hit. Death was plentiful.

By now, after the 3rd firing, the Janissaries had begun to return fire, one of Lazlovs catapult crews had already been eliminated, and as he ordered the fourth barrage, Ottoman troops were climbing the hills, continually firing at the catapult crews. The fourth payload hit the supply train causing gunpowder kegs to burst into fire, sending horses in panic through the remainder of the army that had not taken cover. At this time, half his catapults had been disabled or destroyed. Lieutenant Lazlov himself stepped from his horse and helped the remaining crew of the central catapult position begin loading a 5th payload. Again the creak of hundreds of animal tendons woven tightly around wood sounded as yet another barrage fell towards the enemy's position. As his crew begun loading again, Lieutenant Lazlov considered retreat. There would be no retreat. The Ottoman Janissaries had now reached his position and with fierce resistance the catapult crew fought with sword and pistols against the superiorly equipped and numbered enemy.

Lieutenant Lazlov was hit in his chest by a bullet, he sank to his knees, looked around him, most of his crew dead, he rose from the ground and hobbled to the catapult that was almost loaded, the last load of the new ammunition. Vaulting himself ontop of the explosives, he lit a fuse as the Ottoman soldiers were charging his position.

Prince Igor watched in shocked horror through his binoculars from a nearby hill as the young officer tried to resist as he was dragged from the catapult and beaten mercilessly by its side by a group of Janissaries. Seconds later the explosives went off.
Overviewing the situation Prince Igor was stunned. A single catapult crew had reduced the invading army by half! All Ottoman units had been damaged, most of the Janissaries had lost over half their number. Glory in his eyes, Prince Igor ordered 3 units of Musketmen to charge the disoriented enemy.

Greetings Empress Shakti,

Quote:
To England for being unhonorable by breaking our hundreds years old treaty and spying on us
This wouldn't have happened if your mother Queen Shivali broke the Tao traditions of peace and asked her Tao brothers from England to become their holy warriors and attack Byzantium. Queen Shivali departed from the Tao ways of helping its brethren when approached by Tao members. Her language towards England was becoming more negative as the years passed, considering that England is very possibly the 2nd largst Tao country, this wasn't welcomed. Our answer to such unequal treatment was to increase our intel on your civilization.

This is the only way to know what the real intentions are in India, right now we see troops buildup and massive cultural projects. It seems many indian cities are on cultural overdrive towards what we call here in England Legendary status.

After a very short unanimous vote, the Roman Senate declares an annual week of festivities in the honor of Baron Ozious. All Roman citizens will have a week off, and parades will be held in all main streets in the Roman lands.

The Roman Senate also declared Lord Ozious to be honorary lifetime Senator and grants him a vast estate in the dye plantations at the Arabian border, for his future retirement.

Now that the Senate has taken up the reigns of our fair nation again, we would like to restate our peaceful intentions and again welcome the travelers of all nations and creeds to our lands.

Gen Hulk,

You haven't just increased your intell, but you violated a treaty between our people causing us much harm. We demand that you cease spying on us or we will have no choice, but to answer in kind.
You say we are "building up" culture; it is our way to praise God: building temples, shrines, spending our money on our people spiritual needs-meanwhile you for example are spending your money on technologies which are unpleasing to God.
You may ask of course how is that knowledge unpleasing when India posses those technologies and they were given by God himself, but you must trust God's infinte wisdom. He knows what is best for us and we simply have to follow the guidance. Researching those so called "industrial" technologies will do nothing, but harm to the people, and eventualy destruction. It should be enough that India knows these secrets and keep them safe so the rest of the humanity can live happily without trouble, without the temptation of Evil.

Empress Shakti,

We do repent.
We do regret the actions of the Guru Persian Empire.
The attack on the Natives, the mindless words about other religions, especially Taoism.
We do regret the selfish attitude of Guru-lead Persia.

Hereby we do honourably apologize for all these actions.
We have settled two new cities to pay for the land the Guru Persian Administration stole from the Natives.

We, the New Russian Persians, do not want to be associated with the ancient Guru Persian actions.
Nor will we be associated with the new Guru lead administration in Media.

On behalf of all true Persians I do apologize for all that happened in the past.
May our future be good and peaceful, lead by sacred spirits alone.

King Achmal of New Russian Persia

King Achmal,

Your apology is accepted, thank you for your kind words. We recognize that your people have nothing to do with the Guru-led old Persia. If only you could open your borders so our missionaries and merchants could visit your cities.

Just a statement: we are not "racing" to achieve any so called legendary status in our cities. Our cities are legendary anyway.

What you may see novadays is a new project, we call it the project Sha'vanti, or refered as the Towers of Sha'vanti. We are building 3 monuments in our largest cities for the glory of Sha'tur. These marvelous towers when ready would keep the world in awe.

We've just recently founded a company, the CC corp, which will supervise the construcion of these towers.

Justinian,

It is hard to accept the peace, not because we don't want it, but we feel that we would abandon the Byzantine people. All we wanted to save them.. even from themselves. But we see now that spreading the faith, showing the right way and even converting a whole nation is not a guarantine that they truly understand the Sha'Tao. The roots of evil must be deeper than we hoped, we have to accept that we can't save everyone.
So We can sign the peace for now, untill you don't threaten our world we can leave you in your sinfull life.

We had some doubts about the intentions of Queen Shivali towards far flung Tao nations. But she was always a peaceful neighbour to the Natives.

But that was then.

We welcome the new outlook and approach of Empress Shakti.

Shakti,

May Hastog feast upon your mother.
May her hair grow long and her body thin and slim.
Down in the dungeons she will serve the Heavy One.

If you're looking for regret and apologizes,
seek it in New Russian Persia.
We, the people of Media, do not know regrets.
We live in the spirit of Hastog the Heavy.

Do you not know the prophecies?
You, Shakti, are the golden head.
The Indian empire awed us all.
But is about to fall.
It's reign will be long, but limited.
It's the empire of Hastog, that will replace you.
Your fall will be a shock to many.
But it has been forseen.

The golden head will be succeeded by the silver body.
The silver body of Hastog.

May he bring doom upon all of us.
Now be gone,

Guru Beli'Az of Media

this is a story about Media

Beli'Az the unpredictable

"I want pork for dinner" Guru Beli'Az demanded.
The kitchen crew, lead by Ahmidjan started the preperations immediately. Beli'Az was a dedicated eater. He factually consumed everything that ever moved. But it has to be prepared by the best standards. The pig was selected and slaughtered, the vegetables washed. The table was setup as fancy as possible.

Then Beli'Az ran into the kitchen. "No pork! Give me beef. I need beef now!"
Everybody was in shock. So little time and so much to do to redo the entire meal. The cow was selected in a hurry, but still by ensuring the highest quality. The pork forks were replaced with beef forks. New wine was chosen.

Then the moment was there.
The entire kitchen crew lined up.
Beli'Az entered without.
Nobody got a look.
He seated himself.
Ate.
Then an explosion of anger followed.

"No beef! I wanted Pork! Pork I said!
Why is nobody listening to me?
Give me Pork!"
His head turned red when he yelled at Ahmidjan.

Then the guards were ordered in.
"Execute the chef" Beli'Az ordered.
Ahmidjan was carried outside.

Beli'Az proceeded to eat the beef.
The entire kitchen crew was watching him.
Horror in their eyes.

"It tastes good" Beli'Az then said.
"Better then pork"

@Korea:
ooc- I write this story to draw the image about the current ruler of Media, he is very unpredictable, unstable, cruel and pitiful. This IS important to write the background for my diplomacy. And diplomacy is important and related to civ and this game.

I'm not only playing civ MP. I'm writing stories, creating characters, role play a nation, and I try to do that as creative as I can think of. And a story like this is needed for that. Most of my stories are directly linkable to the game. This one is not, but still important.

I hope you understand.

Slowly but surely Kane's will was being done. After years of building and planning Britannia's prodution increased to levels never seen in Britannia. Step one was a huge success and many now awaited to see what the results of Kane's second step would bring.

On the other side of the world the small Britannian colonies slowly began developing. Ships, troops, and a settler group were making there was slowly to protect the small Britannian holdings under New Russia Persia.

Announcement

Nations of Terra,

The world is changing, and not for the better. We too have to rethink our role in this new era. So far we have always supported our taoist brothers, but most of them just accepted our gifts and abandoned us when we asked for their help in our God given quest. They have turned away from God, twisted the words of the holy book to their needs but in the mean time they enjoyed India's gifts-this is no more.
We will no longer support those who don't follow the way of Sha'Tao to the letter, those who questioning the will of Sha'tur. By this support we mainly mean our one way protection pact, which as of this moment we revoke. Those who still wish to benefit from our protection have to follow the true way of Tao, just as our friends and allies, the Mali do.

India still honors its treaties, which currently is a non-aggression pact with New Russian Persia.

Powhatan sat in his wigwam thinking about how the new native American settlements were getting on. News was not good.

Metacom was surviving in the South Korea territory but it was a struggle in the wintry conditions.

Meanwhile far away up north in the land where the Persians landed settlers for the natives, conditions were equally harsh. Opechancanough was chief in this settlement.

It was while he was smoking his pipe and thinking about such things that the holy man, Tomocomo arrived. Tomocomo had been in the group accompanying Pocahontas to England.

‘Great chief I bring you news from England. As ambassadors from Native America we were welcomed and treated well with great hospitality. John Rolfe and John Smith arranged an introduction for Pocahontas and us to meet King James.’ She was treated as a princess ’.

‘Though she lived for many years with her husband John Rolfe, and had a child she had a great desire to return to her native land.

It was on the journey home with her husband and child that she took gravely ill and was taken ashore, where she died’.

Powhatan thanked Tomocomo for the news and asked to be left alone. He was deeply saddened.

Powhatan called for his dear friend chief Squanto.

‘Come old friend, you and I are old men now, come share a pipe of tobacco with me. I have lost my Pocahontas.

Could you summon Opechancanough and Metacom for a Powwow, we need to discuss the future direction of the Powhatan Confederacy’.

But Powhatan never got the opportunity. He died shortly after from a broken heart.

Chief Squanto became chief for a brief period but when Metacom returned to the homeland the natives Powwow, made him the great Chief.

There were important issues to decide on, not least the news from Empress Shakti.
