We Byzantines are conscious that other nations have developed particular skills in construction and in the use of, what I understand is a very clever navigational tool called, compass. We would be delighted to learn of these from others. In exchange we are willing to offer a wide range of classical skills and technologies. We are conscious we particularly excel in some of the more artistic pursuits - drama and literature for example - but we are open for many different possibilities.

Following the capture of Hastogsburg, Dominika sent a messenger to the retreating Persian army.

To the leader of Persian forces
The following terms are presented for a cease of hostilities.

1. Persia acknowledges Hastogsburg to be Russian
2. Persia can keep no military except Longbowmen as garrisons in cities near Hastogsburg
3. Persia upgrades 2 galleys to galleons for Russia.
4. The Guru's will acknowledge the new name of Hairy Hastogianism as Catharstogism.
5. The High Priestess of Moscow elects a new High Priestess for leadership of Catharstogism and the Persian Guru's acknowledge this appointment as true to the will of Hastog.
6. Persia agrees to not build culture in Persepolis so that the fields of Hastogsburg can recover to Russian territory.
7. Persia will let Russian ships sail through the Persian straits.

As you see our forces have not only taken Hastogsburg, but our army is strong enough to hold it. Our longbowmen have taken up defensive positions, our crossbows are marching north, our maces, elephants and catapults are prepared to continue the assault towards Persepolis or west to the Persian heartland. Your surrender and acceptance of terms will go a long way towards reducing tensions and restoring the status quo. A status quo which Persia disturbed generations ago when it attacked our people forcing us into an existence in pitiful small lands while Persia grew to 3 times the size. This injustice is now partly corrected.

If you do not wish to accept our terms then our armies will continue, but we will not capture any more cities. We will burn them. If you are certain that you can prevent us from taking any more cities then we encourage you to continue fighting. If for a second you suspect that our army, which now is prepared to chase your soldiers all the way back to their ugly mothers, cannot succeed, with our advanced Trebuchets, our valiant Royal Explorers and our superior supply lines, not to mention our dogged determination, then feel free to challenge us further. But do so only if you can afford the costs of a war against a nation that is armed to the teeth and willing to fight for generations. We have learned hard lessons in our life as a bereaved people, and we have become a hard people. Your great empire is full of men who have never fought or had the need to. Your homeland far from borders, borders protected by the veneer of a giant, has no warriors, only slaves and men of little fighting value. How many men out of all Persia is under arms? In Russia the number is the highest in the world. Our people fight, and we fight well. Russia is rising in this red dawn and we will show the world our figthing capabilities, consider well if you wish to remain the target of our fighting. Hastog clearly favors us. As do the numbers, experience and pure courage. Surrender!

Persia confirms the fall of Hastogsburg.
Persia was not able to defend itself against this stab-in-the-back.
The Persian armies were killed while sleeping by their friends.
This is nothing to be proud about for the Russians.
Apparently they find satisfaction in killing sleeping friends.

Russia has to prepare itself for a long-term war.
Many Persian cities are on full war-production now.

Intelligence Reports to Theodosius

Sire, the upgrading of the older cavalry units to cataphracts is now in mid-stream. The new cataphracts are emerging from training, inspired by our great heroic epics.

Currently small groups of cataphracts are patrolling the English border to protect our people from the wolves of war, for bands of fighters mixed with the refugees have been crossing over in recent years, and rumours abound of Incan agents crossing the other way.



The north-western force is proceeding as instructed.

Peace

The Arabs and English have officially signed a peace treaty. There is peace now between these two nations.

All English troops have withdraw from MAD lands. A ceasefire was send to the Greeks as well.

Talks with Rome are still going, the outlook seems to be what the two nations want. Peace and stability!!

Many English generals were not happy with the peace talks and cease of fire.

They say that they could have attacked the grand Roman army if given a chance.

But Wallace was firm, no Englishmen is to set foot on Roman lands until they are welcomed.

END of all hostilities towards the Romans.

The English fleet was also recalled back from its blockade.

England wants peace with Rome and the start of good and trustworthy realations.

Have you seen the map the Persians have published milady? It is truly amazing. How they have managed to portray our empires as equals, how they portray our attack as a backstab all the while praising Hastogian virtues of might makes right. It is like they are mad with too many voices shouting within their heads.

-I know Roza, but luckily my dear husbands explorers have finished their mappings of Persia Major. Publish the map and send copies to all leaders of the world, I am certain that everyone would be much interested in these exotic and foreign lands.

"Yes, my son, a settler received from Persia as a gift" the answer then answers

		Deportation of Russia (Part 1) The Persian scientists had finalized their research on star-based navigation. Now bigger and faster ships could sail the oceans. Immediately the construction of the "New Moscow" was finalized. The orders of the captain was to bring the first Russian refugees to New Russia. These were Russian citizen who feared the defeat of their motherland and volunteered to go to New Russia immediately. The "New Moscow" would soon deport all citizen of Moscow to new Russia. There the Russians could start a new life. A Fat Hastogianistic missionary accompanied the refugees. He would teach them about Fast Hastogianism. Harhastogianism had poisoned the hearts of the Russians. Perhaps the teachings of Fathastogianism would bring them back on course. The ship departed.

I call upon you to bring your workers to my port cities already. I can then start shipping your workers to New Russia already. This will help your citizen to start a new life with a jump start. Every delay in sending your workers will in the end slow down your new start in New Russia.

Just hand over your workers on Persian soil and we will immediately ship them to New Russia.

korea takes note that Byzantine breaks its age old deal of a tech when it is asked for.

Korea did its part and now due to korea being broke of vouchers, byzantine will not repay.

We offered that they give a great leader instead but they ignored that.

Is this the true Byzantine, one of finding technical issues to break deals.

Korea is not pleased but has no option but to accept this from a world power leader.

Other small nations beware of deals made with byzantine. They will find loopholes to get out of them

I understand completely what you say about fish - I was rather suprised that you didn't have any. I will try to obtain some corn. What of wine? A new supply should emerge soon if Rhodes holds - would you like that?

Regarding technology. I understand your reluctance to use your last voucher. I think your proposal is good:

1. Now, you give me machinery, and I pay the voucher (your voucher count unchanged, mine reduces by one).

2. At any point in the future, you can request any technology from me, but you would pay the voucher (my voucher count unchanged, your reduces by one).

I would welcome this deal, and I believe it is fair, for I get what I need at this moment, and you get the ability to get something of partiuclar need to you, or of particular value, in teh future.

If we could go ahead with this as soon as possible, that would be a great help.

Our deal was very clear. You gave me a tech and I paid the voucher, and then at some point in the future I would give you a tech and you would pay the voucher. It is not my fault if you mismanaged your vouchers.

I have broken no deals. I am not getting round anything on technicalities. You are trying to change "I give you a tech and you pay the voucher" to "I give you a tech and I pay a voucher" - these are not the same thing, as every nation on earth knows.

Over recent years Byzantium and Korea have had good relationship, and have worked together. This completely unjustified public attack horrifies all Byzantium.
