  • I am sorry but I insist on a reload.

Everyone else has in this game.

    There is a principle here.

I was prepared to be relaxed about it until I saw Portugal's insistence to Cyber to not reverse the turn order (even thgough I was OK about it not doing this).

    Let's be fair about this.

Cyber changed the timer without warning.
    Portugal double-moved.

    Khmer is a victim.

I want to see where the Portuguese units were after their first move so I can respond to that. I don't trust Portugal's judgement on that. Plus I had a strategy in place to support Nuremberg.

All I'm asking is that the current 1828AD turn be reloaded. I don't think Rome has played that yet. IN FACT I JUST SAW YOU LOG IN NOW - hope you read this...

I believe that not many people will have problems b/c the time I 'cutted' of next turn(s) is mainly USA night time

1, I think this was an enough warning from cyber so dont blame him. And it was done to avoid future conlficts.. as it would have happened in a perfect world
2, Would have been better if portugal asks for pause or permission for double move but it was a legal move. (according to the current rules.. i don't like this "6 hours rule" but lets discuss it for future games)
3, I dont really like the reload so would be better if you (Khmer&Portugal) could agree how to continue. If you cant then reload..
4, people really shouldnt log in more than once-unless you get dropped out ofc. I dunno what causes the lock outs when certain players online or try to join..

      • Well, in fact I have just come back out because I can't take the pause off! I think it is because I open immediately to a diplo screen - I can't sort the trade out, presumably because its paused, but while in the diplo screen I can't take the pause off! What a mess.

However, I am sorry to say Khmer that I did play most of 1828 last night until the Russians booted me (see above) and it was in 1828 that I destroyed a huge Spartan army. Unfortunately the Portugese played before me, so it is impossible to reload the Portuguese move without wiping out my victory. So reload is problematic.

Not sure what to suggest. Solving one problem only causes another.

Though in the end I think the point has to be that Portugal didn't double move. He moved after the 6 hour window. And (with reference to Japan's post above, he did ask what to do on here). So I can't see that anyone has broken any rules. Though I can see the problem if, as I think Khmer is saying, he would have logged in and played first if it hadn't been for the save error on the server which extended the timer of the last turn so when he tried to log in, it was still 1826, and then by the time he logged in again it was past the 6 hour point in 1828.

I still need to complete 1828, but can't get in, and given all this, its probably best I don't until we decide where we are going.

The game is still paused - best I guess for us all to leave it like that.

        • The move was legal under current rules from what I see.
Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.
The simple suggestion of a true change scandalizes and terrifies modern man. -Nicolás Gómez Dávila

          • I let this go a couple of hours ago but seeing the insults coming from the sore loser Deity I have to say a couple of things:

*I asked here if i can move when Deity was late to take his turn.
*Robert asked me to wait 3 something more hours which I did
*Having been logged at the same time when Robert was in the game i even had a chat and he reassured me that I was doing nothing wrong with my log on to take my turn. (NO RULES were broken)

Not sure why Deity is making this so personal and attacking me in such a lame way.

But a reload is a NO GO. Of course now he knows that i have an army near that small city of his and ready to attack that very same turn. He will airlift in units from his core cities and increase his defense, when this would never have happened if he hadn't known that i was about to attack and take that city.

Plus I had a strategy in place to support Nuremberg
Of course this is only natural that Deity will say, what are the chances that this was going to happen right on the very turn i was going to take that city. Deity why didn't you have defense there for the last 30 turns?

            SO no Reload!!!!

              • What do you don't get from the below rule Deity?

6 hours time between moving during (pre) war-time
Civilizations that are at war or want to declare war have to wait 6 hours after the turn started if they were the last of their opponent(s) to play their turn during the last turn. When all opponents have moved before those 6 hours have passed the player can play as well.

Thus, a civ at war or intending to declare war in the current turn can play their turn when:
                - His opponent(s) played their last turn after he has played his last turn
                - 6 hours have passed since the new turn started
                - all his opponents have moved during this turn
I did nothing wrong!! But you go ahead and blame me more.

Of course you would say that.

But is it good form? Is it a good rule?

There has been so much talk about the rule but it fails to cover this situation. In fact the rule doesn't work if it doesn't preserve turn order during war.

I'm not going to wake up in the middle of the night to play my turn.

Portugal can not get away with a DOUBLE MOVE. He uses every other border line trick in the book to gain advantage which has caused other games to fold. He puts up a pretence of politely "asking Robert" but really he should have acted in good faith and as a good sportsman and asked for a pause. I'm a very fair person but when confronted with this sort of over-zeolous self-interest it gets my back up (read back over the posts).

My God, for those that know him, can't you hear Toni's outcries if this had been done to him?

And as far as Nuremberg is concerned answer this Toni, "Was there an Airship in Nuremberg and might it have spotted your transport?"

Of course there was an Airship there but I don't know the answer to the second part because you played two turns in a row.

This is not healthy for the goodwill of the game. Nor is the lack of diplo and lack of story posting by Portugal. It is obvious you are playing in an OOC malicious manner which is spoiling any fun.

I have no problem losing (if that be the case) as long as there is diplo and OOC friendship. All my harsh words up until now were IC.

                  • Ugh, the double move rule is an impossible burden. Pretty much every single war there are bad feelings and arguments about it. I tried fixing it, but I guess people got upset.

Unfortunately HRE signed peace with Rome/Spain, and the tank was kicked out to the HRE city. I offered open borders to Spain, but it wouldn't have been able to start moving the tank till the next turn, and it would have probably taken another turn or two to make it to Nuremburg. Sorry.

                    • Well, since Khmer has a diplomancy screen up when I log on, I can't do anything. Not even unpause the game.

                      • I never knew until now how much you recent me Deity. Again blame me hate me, I followed the game rule. You can try twisting it as much as you want, but you can't change that. Also i wonder why are you the only one who sees something wrong here. No one else except you have said anything against my move. I actually read people saying that they see nothing wrong with it, maybe that has to do with the fact that I followed the rules? As i said before, I only took it to not miss my turn, but of course your paranoia blinds you just too much.

My God, for those that know him, can't you hear Toni's outcries if this had been done to him
Deity people see only one thing here and that is your crying.

Ozzy just told you that HRE tank you wish you had will never make it to your city in time, the only thing you can do is to play me the dirty trick of airlifting a tank of your own to that small city.

What you want stories for me to post and tell you that i am coming to get you - HAHA read your history you wrote my stories yourself Khmer!!! Go back and even read the stories i posted it was clear that i was on my way to burn some Khmerians.

It hurts when you are on the receiving end i agree, but this is a war game and you have been slowly lighting this fire. Of course you can't take it as a man so instead you go around cursing OOC me.

                        • What's happening? Has the Game been Paused? Is there a re-load about to happen? If there is then Rome/Russia/Wyandot all suffer as Japan/Sparta will move first but know what we intend on doing. Sparta's double login was illegal - we have a precedent for that - so I could claim foul too! We cannot have a re-load or it harms those of us who have done nothing wrong at all. Even if everyone does replicate their moves, very unlikely, the combat results may be totally different just like saving before an attack in SP and re-loading if you don't like the result.

PS. Portugal can you control your language please. I am only 12 and my Mummy told me that WTF is naughty and means playing with girls out of school.

                            • Well if we are still going with the 6 hour rule (again, I think the rule is crap) then yea, Portugal was following the rule and we shouldn't reload. But Deity is right, you'd be throwing a fit right now if this went the other way around.

                              • @ Portugal. WTF has a bad word at the end and it means something my Mummy says is bad. I am only 12 so I don't understand naughty words but Mummy says you do it with girls. It's a friggin' joke Portugal, lighten up!

I'm not really 12 anyway - I lied, Mummy must'nt find out! I'm really only 10 and it's past my bedtime now.

@ Ozzy. We either have a Rule or we don't! Just play PBEM and let a game last 2 years or play PitBoss without a timer and let it get stuck like HOTWXX, whatever number it is, for so long that the majority of players will have developed senile dementia by the time it ever resumes.
