Morning Andy, it is all excitement down here , as our viewers know much excavation has been occuring since the discovery of what we now assume is the ancient palace of the Oldonian Kings. The archeoligists were surprised to find so little left in most of the rooms, it would appear that the palace at some point in time was attacked and burnt to the ground. Nearly all artifacts have been destroyed from those eras. However, it was the perserverance of Angus Smith and his crew that dug deeper under the palace and they have discovered this morning some ancient scrolls. The scrolls are in the ancient tongue of the Oldonians so are currently being translated ,but we do know that the author of the scrolls is one Elbert Hingus

Fred who is this Elbert Hingus

Glad you asked Andy. Apparently from our investigations we have learnt that Elbert was a scribe from about the 8th century. His was the job of detailing the day to day running of the kingdom. It is in his works that we shall discover much of the missing history of this part of the world

Great news for History buffs then, thanks Fred, and now some news from the Sports front. Eastern Razolia defeated Bulgaria 56 -nil in the LAdies Hockey. Over to you Bob.

read the post before making attempts at humour .

              • Is there any way we can turn off the damn auto-log-out feature for us?

This is the third time I've lost a post, and I know you are going to say "well you have to save it then log in again and paste it" but screw that. I forget to do it when I'm busy, and honestly this is annoying and I have probably totally ditched three posts altogether because of this.

Its damn annoying and it discourages me from posting.

EDIT: Sorry about the outburst, I will replace these posts with story posts.

                      __________________________

Emperor Sejong comissioned a naval expedition to the eastern seas in order to chart the waters, discover new lands, and establish a sea-route to Piercia in order to establish diplomatic relations with the northern, and unknown, states of Rome, Portugal, Russia, Piercia, and Wyandots. Previously there was a failed attempt at a land-route to Mi'Ting (the Korean spelling of the Piercian city of Meeting), that saw the destruction of a scouting unit under the command of Colonel Jeong Jung-bu.

A ship called the K.S.S. Sinjeong (named after the Emperor's mother) was constructed for this voyage. The commander of this ship would be General Han Gong and would be seconded by Kim Jong-seo, a trusted soldier in Korea. Han Gong was known for his victories over the Aztecs in the barbarian wars, as well as his experiences with the world-renowned general Bae Hyeongyeong, who had become a nearly-mythologized characher in Korean, as well as Greek, history. Kim Jong-seo, for his part, was known as a loyal and disciplined soldier and had secretly been the assassin comissioned by King Wang Geon of Goguryeo to kill General Gang Jo, who was in an illicit affair with Princess Sinjeong many years ago. Han Gong was one of the few people who knew of the affair between Sinjeong and Gang Jo and at the time of his appointment to this task was one of only two people (Emperor Sejong being the other) who knew of this affair and were still alive. This fact gave him great concern; was Sejong trying to get him away from the Korean cout? Was Kim Jong-seo here to kill him as well? It added a great deal of tension to the mission.

This is the tale of the K.S.S. Sinjeong...

                      The Island of Nam'po.

The first mission of the K.S.S. Sinjeong was to establish a permenant settlement on the island of Nam'po, which was directly south of Seoul and beyond the straights of Seoul. By exerting its influence over this island Korea felt that their powerbase would extend just slightly in the region, and would also help establish a maritime zone that could be used to create a powerful Korean navy.

                      General Han Gong wrote this of the expedition to the island;

The settlement was quickly established upon the island, and a monument was quickly erected to celebrate my mission here. While I was humbled and honored by this act, I felt it was unnecessary. It was truly the intrepid settlers who would brave the wilderness to establish a settlement for the greatness of Korea who deserved the credit for this new settlement. This was a very good excersize for our crew however, who would have to establish a much longer and more dangerous mission around the great Eastern mountains to the northern kingdoms. I worry greatly over this mission. What surprises are in store for us? What dangers? What glories? Only time shall tell, but tonight a great feast will be thrown in celebration of our new settlement. I hope the men get their fill, for tomorrow we return to Seoul in order to re-equip our provisions, as we head into the great unknown...
                      Kim Jong-Seo and Han Gong...

After returning to Seoul there was an impromptu celebration at the port of the great capital. The Emperor was not present for this, as he was on a trip to the city of Wonsan, which was once ravaged by the Aztec hordes. It was until much later, in the modern day, that part of General Han Gong's personal journal was discovered. This transcript shows that it wasn't merely the unknown that the General feared...

I dare not speak publicly about this, by a great and dark secret lives and shall die with me. The origins of our Emperor are questionable and are shrouded in dark secrets and even murder. The very man who killed the Emperor's true father now accompanies me upon this voyage, and one that a reasonable man could suspect will return without all the men that left with it. I can not help but wonder why Kim Jong-seo was chosen for this voyage. He showed no maritime merits, although neither have I, but his attributes are that of unyielding loyalty to command. The man simply does not think for himself, and will carry out any charge given to him. It is no secret that he killed Imperial Commander Gang Jo, and for one purpose; to hid the very secret I myself bear.
...The ship was ready to leave the port of Seoul and travel east beyond the Great Eastern Mountains. It would be years before any of these men returned to Korea, and not all of them would accomplish this feat. The General closed his journal and placed it in his belt, he looked around the shoreline; it was quite rocky and unforgiving. Much like his voyage would be.

"General! There you are!" said a familiar voice, it was Kim Jong-seo, and he was alone "What are you doing over here? We must leave soon."

"Just alone with my thoughts Corporal" the General said, staring into the sea "To think this void will be our home for years to come."

"Yes, but what adventures it must hold for us. The great seas must have lands and treasures beyond our very imaginations!" Kim said, uncharacteristically.

Han Gong smiled, although it was a timid smile. After all this man is an assassin, and a killing machine, "That is true Corporal" he said sighing "But I can't help but think, that perhaps others would be better suited to this charge, I can not help but think perhaps the Emperor wants us away from court, upon the sea where we shall be ignorant to the goings-ons of Empire."

Kim Jong-seo laughed "Isn't that ultimately what we want General? I can't bear to stay here any longer, all of the pretentious trappings of court, the bowing, the titles, the rules. It sickens me to no end."

The General turned to him "Strange, I thought you a disciplined soldier, a-"

"A yes-man General?" Kim said with a smile.

"Well, I wasn't going to say that, but quite frankly yes."

"Well, men of my ilk, men without noble blood in their veins must be sure to follow all such trappings, what my breath utters does not match what my heart believes General. But being a man of Goguryeo surely you understand this?"

The General nodded, perhaps he was wrong about Kim, "The Goguryeo of old is long gone, Wang Geon is long gone Corporal." he approached Kim, "Well, we had better get going..."

The Warriors of the Gobi; the Mongols!

Korean sailing techniques were very rudamentary, their ship was heavily influenced by an Oldonian fishing vessel that arrived at their coast during the stewardship of Bae Hyeongyeong, and while Korean engineers managed a much better design and a larger vessel their sailing knowlege was still in the early stages. But the ship slowly trudged towards its destination.

To this point no Korean had ever crossed the Great Eastern Mountains, the mountains were so large that this feat was impossible by land, but by sea it was quite easy and legends of the Oldonian seafarers told of the great desert beyond, this desert was called the Gobi by the Koreans. A scouting party was launched from the ship once they reached a safe coastline, while the coast was safe the inhabitants of this desert were far from it...

We have suffered a terrible tragedy! We launched a small scouting party to explore the great deserts, which were rumored to be rich with resources such as spices and copper, and plenty of hills for mining. There was a lack of growth in this area, which forced us to provide much of our food rations to our scouting party. This was a terrible mistake; our men were mercilessly slaughtered by a people called the Mongols. As the Aztecs are the vile cousins of the Maya, the Mongols could be said to be the vile cousins of the Koreans. They are much like us in appearance, except their skin is tanned and burnt by the sun in the same way we prepare our leather. Their men were ghastly warpaints and stink of animal entrails, which they require for sustenance in such a desolate land. We lost nearly all of our scouting party and will make no more efforts to explore these deserts. Once we meet with Minister Hae Mosu in the Mayan lands we shall ask that the Emperor send an army to dispatch these scoundrels. Unfortunately the loss of our men also means the loss of much of our provisions, and this has been a terrible boon for the remainder of our journey. We hope to one day return and destroy these dog-eating barbarians...
                      The Jungle Islands...

Following the terrible tragedy in the Gobi deserts, the Sinjeong continued forward along its journey. They looked forward to their arrival in Mayan lands and the opportunity to resupply their ship and pick up a new crew. They were to meet with Imperial Minister Hae Mosu and the delegation of Koreans headed for Mi'Ting. Before they arrived though, they would once again learn the dangers of the seas...

                      • Young Pacal in Pusan

Hidden far from Mel Gibson's eyes, Pacal III was raised outside the fledgling city of Pusan in Korea's southern providence.

It was here that his mother Siegeon taught him Korean and Mayan culture, Taoist beliefs in his fathers tradition, and "skills of the privileged" such as mathematics, jewelry crafting, and battle theory.

He also learned of his father, and the heathen who took his place.

Daily training in swords to prepare him for the day when he would dethrone Mel Gibson and reclaim his fathers place.

                        Mel Replies to Nations

Mel Gibson got the letter regarding the island of Cozumel.

"A settler and workers, hmmmm....", he thought, "but why should I pay for something that was not owned? Perhaps it would be best to pay something for this island so as to keep in Peircians good graces.

Mel Gibson was given a letter from Greece regarding Rome.

"So Greece is upset that the new Roman leaders will not honor past obligations, interesting..."

Mel Gibson wrote to the Wayndot, wondering when they would make Taoism the national religion.

                          • Seven years have passed and the shade that blinded
the emperor had lifted. He did not like the fact Yoshiaki
was raping Japan’s wealth from right underneath
everyone’s nose. He also didn’t like the long war he had
with the Oda forces that only fought for him. One night
while everyone was asleep he gathered 20 of his most
loyal ninja. Their goal was to assassinate all of
                            Yoshiaki’s commanders and Yoshiaki himself.

That night one by one the commander’s heads were
taken and placed on poles outside of the palace.
Yoshiaki had the worst fait of all for he was captured
then slowly cut into pieces. The emperor took 5 days to
personally saw parts off of Yoshiaki a joint at a time.
Once he was done he had Yoshiaki’s head place on a
pole with the rest of his dishonorable traders to the
                            throne.

Two years later Japan was growing, not in size yet but
in culture, finance, and research. No longer was Japan a
weak country that had to depend on the good will of
others to protect it. Though the Imperial army was small
it was still enough for what Japan needed. The emperor
wanted to Japan to be as strong as other countries so
he ordered scouts to be made to send out to all parts of
the world to learn from other counties. The emperor
hoped that with the knowledge gained from other
counties he could use it to make Japan better.

No Peircian come when invited to honor my wedding with Isabella many months ago. Why now, I hope you can clarify this misunderstanding and state your purpose here. The Greeks are most welcomed they were invited some time ago and only now were able to send their representative to us. Foreign delegations who haven’t consulted us before entering our lands are not welcome.

Furthermore, your emissary made no mention of "vouchers". We would agree to a straight up trade of a tech for gold with no voucher involved.
