I think it's very poor form to artificially boost other civs in a wholesale fashion like you suggest.

It spoils the great Rome story line. But I think you as a player (whoever you are) throw these nervous wobblies after dishing out stuf IC and then get very anxious about repercussions.

I understand you want to gift all your cities except your capital but still log in each turn to play your OCC challenge.

How ridiculous. If you are logging in anyway you may as well just play Rome and stop spending 2 hours a day on planing and posting if you can't afford the time.

Well as someone who has had to do this a couple of times (stop playing Civ, or quit out on a game) I understand completely that its a difficult thing to do. And I think he still wants a part of Rome, but he realizes he can't continue completely and give it the attention he thinks it deserves. This is exactly what happened to me in HOTW12 with the Americans. Honestly though, if you can't give it the attention it really needs you might want to just hand it over to someone else, I know it sucks, but I think that's the best option.

I really don't think splitting Rome up, or any other variation of that is a good idea at all. Rome is an important Civ, at least politically and militarily, so there is no good reason to split it up/dissolve it.

I would say we try and get another player, if need be have someone anonymously sub for them in the interim. But really I think findnig a new player is the best option.

Besides that its VERY possible to have the highest score and still be a relatively weak country.

It is bad enough that in game i have been made to feel i have no friends i can trust , but it is now beyond a joke the stuff i am putting up with in the threads, you mway think your posts are all in fun and jsut a joke but when all the jokes are at my expense then it becomes too much.

but hey it why i come to play DIPLO games. For the social interaction,

I have no real friends outside of online stuff so i jumped for joy when invited back to play a diplo game.

but i can not take this anymore, everything i say gets twisted and abused. I am not here to play mind games and see who is the cleverest smartest whatever.

i play games to have fun and to socialise.

My Status

Sorry for the delay in updating here but its taken me a while to retrieve my favorites and etc from backup to restore them to an old laptop I have. Unfortunately I can't play CIV on the laptop ... won't support it.

My anticipated return has been delayed...

I have to get a new system this week as my pc literally fried ... shop not sure what happened but informed me on Friday that a new motherboard, power supply and other components were still not working. One of my two harddrives was also gone. Since they don't know what caused this and pretty well everything is gone or things are in a iffy state they said it is likely better getting a new pc. I agreed.

Fortunately I have good backups (moxy home is a life saver) and have completed the restore of data to my wife's pc.

Not sure if anyone is subbing for me. If anyone is ... thanks. And I hope I can be allowed to return if my civ is still alive.

I miss playing the turns. It was actually Monday evening upon getting home from work when it happened. Put in the CD ... it started to spin up and PZZZZ poof ... smoke rising from the back of the PC. Thats not good. Quickly unplugged and took it into the shop. The past week the game has been slow to start - I thought it was a licensing problem with macovision ... thats where it was held up ... ever since removing Norton two weeks ago but the last couple days the pc was back to normal and I wondered what was the cause ... whatever it was it failed completely on Monday.

Sorry for my absense. With a bit of luck I'll get my PC on Tuesday ... start restoring everything and reinstalling and be back online later in the week.
