Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.
The simple suggestion of a true change scandalizes and terrifies modern man. -Nicolás Gómez Dávila
You might think it is crappy but it is done allot. For instance when my shogun set up a fake attack and blamed it on the Oldonians. They should have never heard it at all since it was private about they did and the excuse they gave was that they had spies listening in. granted it was a lame excuse but I went with it. You have entered my lands were we still have spies trying to find out who else was helping barbarians. Is it too far of a stretch to say those same spies had been keeping an eye on what you did and said while in my land? I don’t think so and for you to get all uppity about it I really don’t understand.
@Japan, I think that The Capo means that you should see a difference between official diplomatic communications and things said off the record during a private communication.

I could see his point if he said it outside of my lands, like the Vikings have done many times, but they did not. It all was said on Japanese soil so Japan will react to it. And whether he thinks it is stupid or not he needs to remember the Japanese are a prideful people who are easily offended especially when you talk crap about us in our own lands.
I don't have contact with you in the game, how am I in your lands?
Besides that, unless you are saying that my Imperial Commander or my General are spies then your spies didn't see the conversation. All I'm saying is if you start reacting to everything that is ever said in the game it won't get fun, and if people don't get the opportunities to give their characters personalities (like General Jumong is disrespectful and arrogant, and basically an *******) people will just have boring respectful leaders which won't be fun.
The slight wasn't really meant to be against Japan so much as it was to establish the kind of person General Jumong is, so my point is that not only should you have never really "seen" that letter, but it wasn't there to insult Japan it was there to establish Jumong's character.
But in general its bad form to do what you are doing, I am just trying to explain how things normally work.
EDIT: By the way, how the hell is a spy supposed to infiltrate an army that is in the middle of a desert? Furthermore, do you even actually have any spies?
I have told you this before Japan is a very prideful country, even more so then the Spartans. Respect and honor is what we cherish the most and though you may have meant no disrespect it matters not. Secondly if you do not remember we had a city there before it was burned. We have yet to send another settler yet but it still doesn’t mean that land is not ours and that you have the right to say what you want. I am also not out to stop others from building up their character’s personality but I will not allow you or anyone else to dishonor Japan in the process. Further more for all you know my spies could have been there while your general wrote the letter so I would have known about it. And again my spies are all over my lands so I know what is happening at any given time anywhere in my lands. Lastly do not concern yourself with me actually having or not having spies. All you need to remember is if you want to show your characters as disrespectful then disrespect the Viking. They at least will do nothing about it.
1. I bleeive it already been said i n stories that the japanese and koreans are similar looking.
2/ The japanese have been patrolling that desert bridge for centrueis so would easily see any koreans traveling through it.
3. They could use ninja tactics and sneak up and join the army and travel with the koreans
4. Being in the army they could over hear the private conversation.
5. Yes writing to korea was wrong they should have just discussed it in japan.
6. You dont need to have built in game spies to conduct spoeing in DIPLO games. Spieing in DIPLO means reading posts etc.
for capo, that desert land bridge, whilst not settled is japanese land. obviously anyonwe else can tryto take it from them by force, but their friends would help them fight for it.
