I don't think Raz can stay away that long, the guy legitimately loves diplogames and I am sure once things start going on he'll be right back where he belongs.

I think most of that comes from the pitboss style, and I did agree with him but I also reserve the right to change my mind when the game comes to fruition. I hope Raz adopts this same attitude.

Would it be possible for a new board to be started for just this Pitboss Game? There are old and new posts in here and my feeble ancient mind is not sure which are relevant to this game.

Actually... not a bad idea. This game has brought Diplo out of the shadows with it's extended run (predicted to last up to 2 years), and large player roster. Perhaps it's time diplo got it's own sub-forum alongside the PBeM and PitBoss one.

Since there's not much activity in this forum, besides the diplo games, I'm not sure if it would make a difference.
Not to mention that it may stop atracting new people to our games.

I agree with Cybershy, while I would love to have a diplogame forum it would result in nobody checking it out and thus nobody knowing what's going on. We practically DO have our own forum anyway. Then we lure in unsuspecting recruits under the guise that this is just a "multiplaying" forum.

Damn, I remember when there were hardly any diplogame threads in the MP forums. I've been a member for a while.

Just a comment ... I am new to this diplogame style (obviously) ... although I am enjoying this game and I read the stories when I have time ... I would like to suggest if there is a you have to read this message (in reference to the fact that one player was upset that the other did not respond - wasn't me) ... I think this is when an email should be sent. Sought of like an official emissary would send a communique. Maybe I'm full of it but in real life I just don't have time to read some of the lengthy but creative story lines.

Is it just me, or has Apolyton been down for the past few days?

Very weird. I wouldn't get the "page not available" screen. The site would just never load.

I also noticed some very weird symbols on civstats next to my civ.

Not exactly down per say... I've been here the whole time.

However the MySQL database server had been crapping itself over the past couple of days, and that meant many weren't able to connect.

I don't think the problem has actually been fixed yet, but they restarted the server and it appears to be behaving itself for now...
