Its cool and all if he thinks that, and I am by no means saying its not a future possibility, but to assume there is some form of alliance between Greece, Korea and Maya is ridiculous. Especially from someone who, as far as I can tell, has received no information to indicate that, at least not from me. I just don't understand the logic in going around doing that.
Hey guys, did you all know Japan, the Romans, Portugal and the Americans are in an alliance!?!?
Did you?
I didn't either. Please knock it off Raz.
Or at least keep your paranoia to PMs and the story thread, where it belongs.

I have something to say, and I feel like this is a good place to do it rather than the organization thread.
I'm sorry you are getting demoralized Raz, I assume it is because the Greeks will not talk to you. You have to understand they are playing their nation's "character" out. Its not like anything gets planned. When the Greeks and I made that first "interactive story" it was totally un-planned. In fact during the course of the entire thing we didn't even discuss it. Things certainly could have worked out differently, in fact I am pretty sure the Greeks wanted to kill Bae Hyeongyeong, but they didn't because I played into their storyline perfectly (sorry if that sounded arrogant). That's all you've got to do. In your case they were waiting for your character to storm into that room and demand an audience with their King, now they didn't tell me this but I can almost assure you that would have given you a different result. That's what happened there. As far as people poking fun at you about the secret alliances; I'm sure there probably are behind-the-scenes dealings and probably some secret alliances, but that is the entire point of diplogames. That's how it works man, that's the whole idea, that's why its fun!
You can't decide not to post, you're up there in the voting so far, you're doing good. I doubt there are any great empires out there right now, and if there are they won't be like that forever (well for my sake I hope not). There's no reason to stop Diplo-ing (if that is the correct term) because of any of this. Build your nation, fight your barbarians, establish diplomacy and hope for the best. Its all you can do, its what I am doing and its what everyone else is doing. The rest of the group doesn't want to lose your posts and your stories and your diplomacy over this, we are just playing out the game and its still early. So c'mon Raz, let's see those DIPLO-skills!

I don't think there's a problem with Alliances, just make sure that no 5 vs 1 situations occur. Keep your alliance reasonable and be willing to give up an alliance from time to time. (alliances that last for 5000 years are just a tad bit silly).
There are no solid rules, but personally I dislike people who want to keep the alliance with their neighbour while politically or religiously going 100% against them. (ie. a confucianistic fundamentalist who keeps up an alliance with their jewish neighbours).
If you can make up a good story for it, go ahead, but try to keep true to your in-game path. (you can obviously plan your in-game character based on what you want to achieve with your civ)
Raz, you're seeing problems everywhere. Please just enjoy the game.Formerly known as "CyberShy"

I don't think Raz is gone, I think he was just upset that Greece didn't respond to him. But Greece wrote him a nice letter in the Story thread so hopefully that piques his interest."Our cause is in the hands of fate. We can not guarantee success. But we can do something better; we can deserve it." -John Adams
