    Culture =/= Civ

    In any case African cavemen had their own culture and way of living that predates anyone, and they aren't a civ.

      African cave men?

      C'mon, I'm a jackass and even I know that is a dumb remark.

      Who the hell are African cave men?

      And my point remains; regardless of whether or not the Aborgines are a true "civilization" is pointless, its a game.

      There are people out there who would say the US has no culture, are these folks right?

        cavemen typo on my part.

        I'll rephrase, plenty of prehistoric communities in Africa, Asia and Europe can boast with comparable or greater achievements than the aborigines of Australia.

        They are not a civ by any stretch of the definition. The only reason anyone would claim otherwise is because of some BS need to be politically correct. As if not having a civilization makes the Aborigine culture any less worthy of existing. Now that is something a real Aborigine would find insulting.

          Which is why they are not a stock civilization included in the game. But they are a "people" and entirely worthy for modders to include in the game, like many other tribes and peoples around the world.

          But this debate is dumb. Get back on topic.

            I agree with Ozzy, it is a pointless conversation. I think I can change them to a different civ though, because their leaderhead is annoying me (although I do like the flag). I was thinking;

            Songhai
            Macedonians
            Scots
            Irish
            Canada
            Swedish
            Bulgaria
            Huns

            But I am leaning towards Songhai. Then again it is kinda cool to play these guys on earth map and start in Australia. Unless I add the Australians, but I'm not sure that they qualify as a civilization...

              I will probably replace the Papal States too, I don't see the point in having them in the game. Italy is in the game and with the Papacy that makes THREE countries that have Rome as their capital.

              So if anybody is playing this mod, give me some suggestions. I've also changed the Lydian flag from the Moorish crescent to the Lion of Croesus which is more appropriate for Lydia. Especially since Islam wasn't concieved when they were a culture.

                  Alright guys, I've fixed up and played this mod over and over again and so far I haven't had any problems with lag or anything like that, so I think its good to go. I was going to add a couple of civilizations to it;

                  Bulgaria (at Toni's request) With Stefan Stambolov as its leader.

                  Ireland (Because I already have a flag and buttons ready, same for bulgaria too actually), with Michael Collins (and possibly Brian Boru too) as its leader.

                  Possibly Scotland, but I am not sure yet, with Mary Stuart and Robert the Bruce as leaders.

                  I am also possibly going to add the following leaders;

                  Rome (replacing Caligula) Constantine
                  Ethiopia (replacing Zoskles) Haile Selassie
                  England (replacing George III) Henry VIII
                  America (probably replacing Patton) Ben Franklin
                  Byzantines - Basil
                  HRE - Charles V
                  Portugal - Henry the Navigator
                  Italy - Vittorio
                  Mali - Sunni Ali
                  Korea - Kim Jong Il
                  Persia - either Khomeni or Mahmoud Ahmedinejad
                  Babylon/Arabia - Saddam Hussein (maybe)
                  Vikings - Harald Hadrata
                  Russia - Lenin and/or Ivan the Terrible
                  Turks - Kermal Ataturk (maybe)
                  Greece - Leonidas or Phillip of Macedon
                  Aborigines - deity of Apolyton (probably )

                  These new leaders are chosen not because of relevence, but mostly because I have good leaderheads for them.

                  Now, I'm not sure I'm going to go through with this quite yet, I'm still making sure the changes I've already made aren't screwy yet. But I am posting to get suggested traits, to help you out here are the new traits the mod offers;

                  Strategic;
                  - 50% cost to upgrade units
                  + 25% production of advanced recon and conventional missile units

                  Diplomatic;
                  + 10% espionage points in all cities
                  Free mobility (+ 1 movement) promotion for diplomat and espionage units
                  Double production speed of brothel and tavern (they both give espionage points)

                  Mercantile;
                  +25% food from trade routes
                  +25% production from trade routes
                  Double production speed of custom house

                  I would also need to know favorite civics, and this mod adds some new civics;

                  Government – Parliamentary (Low Upkeep)
                  • Available at Printing Press

                  • Available at Assembly Line
                  • -50% Maintenance Cost from Number of Cities
                  • +2 Espionage Points per Specialist

                  Religion – Atheism (Low Upkeep)
                  • Available at Scientific Method

                  • No State Religion
                  • +2 Free Military Units & Reduced Military Unit Maintenance

                  So, if you all are interested in giving me advice on this that would be appreciated. I am doing this for you, well also for me, but for you too. So let me know what you think.

                    Again I think it'll be unbalancing. But if you're going ahead anyhow... I request adding Hungary.

                          We already have Hungary (Magyars) in the game, the leader is Lajos Kossuth.

                              FfH could be interesting to do as a diplogame, but I was just coming up with this diplogame mod for general use in diplogaming. Not as a one time thing, so I'm trying to get everyone to put in their two cents so we can make it fun. I also think there is nothing wrong with repeating civics (some of the guys at CF said if I add more leaders I'll have repetition in civic combos) but this allows a diplogamer to play with the civic combos he likes AND pick a culture he'd like to write a story about.

                              But yes, the Magyars (Hungarians) are already in the game, and their leader is Lajos Kossuth, I forget what their special unit is (because I haven't played as them yet) but I think its a cavalry or cuirasser replacement.

                              I am done with the first phase (I think), so I wanted to get a person to test it out with me. This will be nothing big, maybe a normal speed or quick game on a small map with four or five civs just to test it out.

                              I'll put up a few screenshots later on.

                                I saw that Ozzy, but if you make too many different graphic types it causes MAF problems. Like if the Magyars had their own set of units, independent of everyone else's it would use up way more memory uselessly. I love the artwork, but you can't make the mod too big. The art in this is pretty good, it uses the same units for most of the European civs but has their symbols on their shields and armor so they look unique. You should try the mod out so you can get a grasp of what I'm talking about. I'll upload a zip file sometime today (if I have time).

                                There are a few things that I don't like so far; one of the annoying things is a certain unit set has the Marine wearing a blue beret (like the UN), and I want to change this to match their team-color. But I have no idea how to do it at all.
